Multiple wives are fine with me. Multiple husbands, too. Heck, we should just go the Heinlein route and make familiies like corporations. Sounds good to me.

That's sexist. so, ¿Can women have multiple husbands then? And, ¿would you get married to a woman who already has two other husbands? If you would ¿How could the day end? ¿Do you sleep with her on Tuesdays and Thursdays only and the other days if you want party, DIY, or you four would sleep all together?
If you don`t allow women to have multiple husbands (very sexist) then the main problem is that the rich are gonna have all the women and the poor fight for the less atractive ones. BTW ¿How do they do it in countries where polygamy is allowed?

Yes it is sexist. And it's that way because women's position in society was much lower then than now.
Chinese practiced polygamy before - in theory one have as many wives as desired as long as one can afford to maintain them all. This means that the peasantry was monogamous, but the elite had multiple wives and lived in large compounds.
Today, however, the Chinese are strictly monogamous. (Except for certain rich individuals who keep mistresses.)
Muslims in the Philippines (my native land) are allowed up to 4 wives max, but with certain conditions. Say you're in the process of wanting to get a second wive. The religious authorities will do some background investigation on you first, to see if you're fit to do so. Then (very important) your first wife must give her approval.
Good luck convincing her. 
When you want to marry a third time the process gets repeated, but now you have two wives to woo and convince.

There's a similar law that apply to muslims in Malaysia, but amusingly even the poor or lower middle class muslim men CAN affort and convince their wives to approve him to get married until 4 maximum.
I always wonder what spell the man have over these woman.

Anyway, I'm not so sure about the divorce law in syariat, I know it's a practice in certain muslim countries, but not sure it works the same way in Malaysia.

In India they have to go through Islamic Court if they want to divorce. In places like Pakistan all theyhave to do is say the line 3 times.

I see polygamy (having multiple wives) is wrong in the western hemisphere. I beleve on religious and traditional grounds that there should only be one man and one woman to be in a marrage. For personal reasons, I see polygamy is a selfish relationship because you have all of the women (especialy if you have big muscles) while the average guy gets nothing and would suffer a women shortage.
