I wish to have multiple wives.

I see polygamy (having multiple wives) is wrong in the western hemisphere. I beleve on religious and traditional grounds that there should only be one man and one woman to be in a marrage.

And I believe it's not wrong.

For personal reasons, I see polygamy is a selfish relationship because you have all of the women (especialy if you have big muscles) while the average guy gets nothing and would suffer a women shortage.

It's only selfish if you refuse to let your partners have other partners in turn. Even then, it wouldn't lead to a shortage of women, if there were also other women with multiple husbands.

I don't know what the OP of this thread meant, but what I talk about is multiple relationships where all partners are free to have multiple relationships (ie, many-to-many, not one-to-many, and certainly not always man-to-many-women).

I'm in two minds about polygamy. On the one hand, who am I to tell you you can't love more than one woman... but then again, if i were one of many wives [or even girlfriends] I'd be miserable all the time wondering why I wasn't good enough! I don't think its very emotionally healthy.

Polygamy defeats the purpose of marriage. Sexual relations should ONLY occur between two people in a committed, long-term (ideally unless one dies but at least decades), MONOGAMOUS relationship. Sexual relations in a short-term relationship, or in multiple simultaneous relationships, is a foul abomination .

Some people argue that it is not human nature to mate for life; THIS is why society was forced to create the institution of marriage. If it were human nature to mate for life, marriage would not be needed.

Well, I support it if it work both ways(many-to-many), so there's nothing stopping a women to get multiple partner.

But anyway, this thread make me realize why at times I just wish to end up single,i.e. not content with only one girlfriends/wives, too much trouble keeping many of them

This is one of the reasons why the Ottoman dynasty was able to stay intact for hundreds of years.

having multiple wives will surely solved many headache for me. but then thats not possible. how will we feel if our wife have multiple husband too ?

Seriously though, with the current increasing rate of divorce, it's better to abolish the mariage institution all together.

Let people get together whenever they want IT, and go separate ways whenever they feel their spouse can't satisfy their needs.
