If Aliens Arrived - Would You Try to Convince Them About God?

It doesn't have anything to do with stomachs. He was implying that mystical or religious people are uneducated. That's laughable.

Umm, you do realize how all your contributions on this forum involved quotes from antiquated and obsolete books and not a single original thought. Now that is laughable.

The Bible speaks of a 'great delusion' in the last days, and a demonically-staged UFO landing at the White House would fit that bill pretty well.

sheesh, and people call Sultan the Tinfoilhat Man.... if we were having this discussion about anything but religion, you'd be laughed into your separate molecular components. But if the Book of Revelations says demons disguised as aliens are going to infiltrate the highest layers of our government, who am I to disagree?

ALL my contributions? Have you read them all? It would appear not. Read on.

The Bible speaks of a 'great delusion' in the last days. The idea that a demonically-staged UFO landing at the White House would fit the bill pretty well is from me. So I am castigated whether or not I present an original thought, or a time-tested truism. Oh, well, you can't please everybody!

P.S. the great delusion isn't in Revelation. It's in 2 other books.

Since the last days haven't occured yet, how can any statement referring to them already be a truism? :p

I wonder if Jesus knew aliens would land at the White House :p

OK here's a situation for you Curt (and everyone else). Since every possible type of extraterrestrial civilization is possible in this scenario, what if they came down and tried to convert us. But, instead of some alien religion they tried to convert us to a religion exactaly the same as Christianity (different names of course because, they would have a different language. Also, different recorded events, because of a different history). Basically, that there is one God, That we all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God, thus nessecitating the need for a Savior (Jesus), long with other things that are asocated with the Bible such as a Chosen People (Israel). What would your reaction be?

My reaction: "Hey, I know that Guy!"

I would pose them the same question...Prove it! Or it's a fake!

Sure I'd try to convince alians about the way gods are infesting our planet, just as I try to convince tourists about this countrys infestation of drop-bears (thems nasty little buggers).

If they were evangelising aliens I would take full part in their nonsensical rites, in the hope of becoming planetary governor.

What if the aliens were all dishy green chicks and their god was a she?

I might even be convinced!

The problem with religion that we have established is that it leaves no room for new ideas - or for new problems unthought of when the bible was written - for example advanced alien life (the absurdity of it - humans are at the top of the food chain!).

If I were an alien, I'd be up there saying "nah, let's leave them alone. If we do make contact, their society will self destruct, and we'll have their blood on their hands."

Dogma = stagnation.

I didn't say humans were at the top of the food chain. But think about this. The distances in space are so vast, communication, let alone travel, would be very difficult. Beside,s the book of revelations talks of the universe being wrapped up like a scroll at the end of Jesus' thousand year reign. Wouldn't it seem a little odd to have other civilizations, jsut to have them destroyed? Don't you think contact with extra terrestrials would be something important, and Jesus would have told us to look for that? The landing at the White House is not told of specifically in the bible. It is an example of how the "strong delusion" could unfold in the post-rapture world. (if u're pre-trib, that is. lol)

I'm afraid I just can't conjure up any reason in my mind why I would even place any rational stock in this rapture concept.

I defies logic even more than the usual religious myths.

I think JC got one life, made his mark, and people built the empires of reverence around his name.

He won't be coming back riding a horse or an ICBM...

I never said that the Bible says there will be an alien landing. I said that idea came from my own mind. That would be the original thought that I am supposedly incapable of. :p

If you ask me, the "last days" began on May 14, 1948.

Yes, the State of Israel was ordained and prophecied by the Bible and this is a sign that the End Of The World is Nigh!

Quasar you render sarcasm obsolete, I really can't try harder :p
