They already have but Iraqis are marginalized, little bit like the American public.

I am supprised that even the pro-war group are willing to let our troops home when the Iraqis tell us :dubious:.

I thought they were bend on keeping the troops there untill the bitter end.

That's because the pro-wars actually think the Iraqi on the street want the troops to stay. It is the Iraqi goverment that wants us to stay, not the people.

Well then in the next election they should vote in people who better represent their views. Its a democracy/republic, they can do that.

Basicaly here's the scenario: Iraq's Democratic goverenment has a vote, and they demandall US troops withdraw within 30 days.

How should we respond?
Do as they ask. Having the Iraqi government go it alone is better than fighting them, as well as the insurgency.

This will never happen because the only thing keeping that government alive is the American military.

Well, they are screwed either way... But id leave regardless of wether they told us too or not.

If the new Iraqi government believes it is strong enough to stand on its own feet then there really isn't any more choice to it.

Hehe for a moment there I thought that you thought that the pro-war people wanted to make Iraq a 51st state.

Too far to be a state, I would not be supprised if some of the pro-war people wants to make Iraq a US territory ;).

This thread is kinda funny because I would have thought the constant violence and bloodhed since the invasion was enough of a 'get out' message...but apparantly not.

Depose them before they get to such a vote.

The whole reason I wanted the troops in there in the first place was to give the Iraqis the right to tell us to get the hell out. The important thing is that it's now all of them who get a say, not just Saddam.

By pulling out in 20.

To be fair, I'd be for pulling out if they said stay as well. You don't fight a war based on opinion polls in foreign countries.
