Imagine if the Tea Party was Black

To be fair, any set of poorly-trained African paramilitaries around a capitol building in the sixties usually didn't lead to good things.

I'm confused. The OP seems to alledge that the tea party marches on Washington with AK47s and what not. When did this happen?

hundreds of black protesters were to descend upon Washington DC and Northern Virginia, just a few miles from the Capitol and White House, armed with AK-47s, assorted handguns, and ammunition

The open carry issue with hand guns and Assault Rifle (actually I believe it was AR15)
Not to be confused with the arrest in Washington of armed men in two seperate incidents around the white house.

We had a whole series of thread about these "incidents"

Of course it is. People oppose AA because they oppose blacks having equal opportunity to compete. They demand that whites be given more of a chance than blacks.

Except AA isnt 'equal opportunity' at all.

They knew exactly what they were doing, handled their guns safely and professionally (as far as I can tell from pictures) and knew gun laws inside and out. As far as I know none of those events resulted in violence. I can't imagine anyone would volunteer to spray those guys with fire hoses.

In Texas it is. If you finish in the top 10% of your high school class you get admitted to the state university of your choice. Everyone gets a shot at that top 10%.

No, its not. Or at least what you describe simply isnt AA.

It is AA as it is designed to make sure that non-whites get a shot at the university of their choice. NOt many whites at South Oak Cliff High School.

Again, thats not AA. AA would be a program that gives non-whites a boost or exception to that top 10% rule.

So lets say you have two candidates - Student A finished at the 10% point in their high school class and barely scored in the top half on their SAT. Student B finished at the 11% point in their class and scored in the top 5% on the SAT. You know that Student B went to a much more competeive high school than Student A. Should Student A automatocally get their choice of schools while Student B does not?

Call it like it is.
Fine and dandy--if you would actually do that.

There are black Tea Party members, make no mistake. Certainly fewer as a percentage than in, say, the Democratic Party, because black people do tend to lean to the left; that's their choice.

However, the real reason there are few black people in the Tea Party is because there are few black people in the UNITED STATES. So it's nothing special for there to be few black Tea Party members. It's simply random chance. HOWEVER--when a mob is composed only of black people? That's not random chance. That's choice. That's black people seeking the company of other black people. Which is racist.

And, here's the thing the OP article left out, which makes the whole comparison bogus: if a mob of black people came along protesting government spending (the boldface part being the part that your OP article left out)? I fail to see a problem there. That's the all-important detail your article left out: it all depends on what they're protesting against.

Black panthers.

Establishment went nuts.

Check mate Bro :)

#winning. You've just proved your own point on your opponents' terms.
