Immaculate NES Five: Blood From A Stone

Far East Defensive Cooperation Orgainization

This alliance is for the mutual defense of the nations who sign.

The alliance views any crossing of national borders of one of the signatories by a foreign force not authorized to do so as an act of aggression to be responded to by all the signatories.

The alliance will not require nations to aid signatories if a signatory begins a war of aggression. Fellow signatories can help or not as they see fit, but are not required to.

Signatories must all agree to add new members by a unanimous vote.

This treaty is not an economic or technology agreement, it is strictly a military assistance agreement and forces no other conditions upon the signatories.

Original Invitees:

Union of Korea (signed), Hubei (signed), Jiangnan, and Yānzhào (signed)

From Korea
To Hubei, Yānzhào

We are glad of your support. Please inform us if the FEDCO is acceptable as drafted.

Signed,
Chen Wenjian
Acting President, Republic of China

Honestly do not worry over the delay they happen, in fact some NESes only get updates every few months.

@Adrogans - Eh, I'm not terribly worried. I just can't get any good experience in these games if I average one set of orders a month. But it's not big deal. I'm happy to wait.

Now, for some Persian diplomacy!

The dark ages of the last century are coming to an end. It is the belief of the people and leadership of the Ummat Al-Mu’minin that only through economical, industrial, technological, and Islamic growth can we humans achieve and surpass the greatness of the past. We will not retreat back into primitivism or hide away from each other in tiny communities. Let us go into this bright future together, mindful of the lessons of our past.

Though we share a common border and a troubled past I am confident that our two nations can forge a future of peace. Would you be willing to sign some sort of non-aggression pact with our nation in order to keep the Asian continent free from unnecessary bloodshed? If possible there could even be trade agreements between us. You have goods and we have access to many markets. Together we can begin a new Expansion. An Expansion that avoids the devastating missteps of our grandparents.

We welcome peace with you, one of the Great Powers of the world. We would like to propose a non-aggression pact to ensure that peace. For too long the great nations have spilled blood on the African continent. For too long have the people died of war in addition to the diseases and famines of these dark times. Together, you country and mine can grow and prosper without our citizens constantly fearing invasions from the other.

Greetings, brothers and sisters of the faith. We would like to reaffirm to you and your people the goodwill of the Ummat Al-Mu’minin. We would like to continue our close economic ties and are open new trade and development ideas that may come from our dear island friends.

Hello to our southern neighbor. We here in Tehran want you to know that we are always open to new proposals that would benefit ours and the African people. If anything, we are eager to develop our common border into a very prosperous region.

Well, that was fun. Now to finish up my orders!

We welcome this overture of peace and agree to sign a Non-Aggression pact with you. We suggest a term of 5 years with automatic renewal unless one of us publicly announces their desire to not renew the agreement. We are looking forward to a long and prosperous friendship with our neighbor to the east.

The Board of Directors will consider this offer.

@Immac, unfortunately my orders will have to be painfully late (7PM EST at the earliest). There is no real way around this; I hope it is not a major problem

The Council of the the New Day will certainly allow your merchants acess to our markets, merely with a notice that they should not expect favours for their religeon: The New Day believes all religeons free and equal, and even then Islam is a minority.

Workers of the World, Unite!

It is time for a little history, the socialist history of Iberia.

When the communist revolution swept over Iberia, it took many by surprise. At first, the communists were unified. However, many cracks began to show. Danilo Consuelo and Alberto Cruz led opposing sides. The Consuelo's were more powerful, and eventually exiled the Cruz's to South America. Danilo Consuelo was smarter then Cruz, as he knew that we could never "export" the revolution. No, we must build up Iberia first! The glorious and most benevolent former Soviet leader, Joseph Stalin, is his role model! If only he could be more like Stalin! Many compared Alberto Cruz to Leon Trotsky, but most would agree that a dog is a better comparison.

Our dear leader, Comrade Danilo Consuelo, leads a system modeled after the Soviet system. In fact, there are 4 levels of government, although we are a unitary state. The first level, governed locally, is many small districts with popular elections to elect local leaders. Each district has a counsel of 5 members that lead it, carry out directives from higher up, and also elect the next level of government. The next level is the Revolutionary Parliament. Mostly a figurehead, they can be useful for guiding the smaller counsels.

The second highest level of government is the Grand Counsel. These councilmen are also the leading members of the Communist Party of Iberia. They elect El Presidente, who holds his position until he dies or resigns. However, he can be impeached by a unanimous vote of the 9 members of the grand counsel. El Presidente has many roles. Aside from being the leader of the country and the head of the armed forces, he is also the chairman of the Communist Party. He has nearly total power, although most of his power is divested into the bureaucracy.

The Iberian government is the best government, and our glorious Worker's Republic shall one day lead the world!

For those of you who have detailed how your governments work or introduced characters or otherwise ‘filled out’ your nation with notes that might be worth referring to by both the players and myself, may I suggest copy/pasting your these details into the wiki?

The reason I suggest this is that when I write the update, if I want to find details about your nation that you’ve developed, just to flesh things out a bit, I can then find them much more simply by going to one place instead of trying to flip through multiple pages of NES thread for a half-remembered story that may or may not be of use to the update.

The wiki can be found in my signature. The process of contributing to it is very simple. Just head on over there and create a new page; name it after your nation. Fill in whatever details you like then later you or I can add it to the table of contents. Then, whenever we are curious about the inner workings or history of a particular nation, we know exactly where to look.

Thank you,
I.

Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Kaiser

History of Prussia

The Prussian nation's orgins could be found in the Castles and lodges in Prussia proper. Old Germans, devoid of their nobility and their estates, they saw the weakness of modern Germany. They dreamed once more of a state run by the military with the sole focus upon order and stability. Few thought they would get the chance they so desperately desired, but Prussia's destiny was to be found.

As the German nation collapsed, Monarchists and militarists were vindicated at last. It showed that a "democratic" government was weak and easily tempted. They could not be trusted to efficiently manage resources. It would be the duty of the military. As Germany fell, one of the ex-nobles, Fredrick Hohenzollern, made a deal with the Spiegel Corporation; in exchange for equipment and supplies, Prussia would supply the corporation with money and protection if the German nation attempted to retake Bavaria. As the German nation collapsed, many officers and soldiers swore allegience to the newly proclaimed Kaiser Fredrick of Prussia. The former Tiger of Berlin, a fierce defender of democracy, became Knight Commander Herman von Salza, and led the growing Prussian Army into taking Berlin, ending democracy in Germany proper. The nobles celebrated but von Salza and the Kaiser were not. A few days later, Prussian troops marched into the Confederation of the Rhine, reuniting most of Germany. von Salza turned his attention East and captured Poland from the rapidly dying state. IN the West, von Salza quickly returned to repulse a French invasion, and smashed through Belgium to capture Paris. Knowing that Prussia was drained from the lightning quick campaign (for their standard), a peace was made, placing Prussia in a position to dominate Europe.

Should really be a Canada Goose: your average Canuk fears them far more than wolves, and their far more aggresive and wider ranging. And way more Canadian.

Orders sent. Some of these expert flag-designers should get in contact with me :p

OOC: I'll make you a flag for 3 EP and a cookie! :p
