Imperium Offtopicum - UN Building

I have a question about the battle rules, if two nation attacks one from different directions, will it affect the battles in any way?

In any case, I vote in favor of the new rule

Also the pacificstan alaska thing, If you take the part that you've claimed and I'll take the rest, will it satisfy your? I just need a safe bering strait.

I said that awhile ago. I take southern coast, you get the rest.

Also, in the event that you accept my agreement, I suggest an economic alliance with a coalitional police force on the Bering Straits administered by both Pacifistan and the CCCP equally.

Claims Court Case XVI: Pirates of the Sid Meier's Claims on the Falklands, Seychelles, Mauritius, Djibouti, Bahrain, Qatar, Eastern Ethiopia, Comoros, Reunion, and Iceland

Details: Piratopia seeks to extend it's domains to numerous naval posts around the world.

Votes:

6 for (Pirates, Choxorn, Tibet, Marian Empire, Zelalta, CCCP)
3 against (Topia, USA, Peronland)

I vote YES to the New Rules of Combat. Though I would like to see it get it's own thread too, as to not clog up the diplomacy thread or the UN thread (it would also be easier for the neutral dice rollers to post results, instead of sifting through pages of diplomacy).

I vote NO to Topia. He's taking waaaay too much land with those claims.

Ditto.

I say no to the pirate claims

As a neutral nation, pirating is the only real threat to me, and I'm not going to consent to an expansion of their reach.

After some extensive Wikipediaing and Excell equations, I have the following data:

Total - Islands claims: 51,970

Total - Islands minus Iceland claims: 12,200

Total - Mainland claims: 108,958

Total - All claims: 160,928

Notes: Every thing is in sq. miles, and Qatar is included as an island. Etheopia's horn thingy is estimated to be 100,000 sq. miles, about a 1/4 of the total area of Etheopia.

And since neutral is neutral, I'm not gonna bug neutral nations. You know, unless someone pays me.

Are you guys referring to Piratopia or DysUtopia?

These similar names will be the bane of all.

I think (hope) by Topia they mean Disutopia, since on the front page their claims are listed as "Topia" and mine as "Piratopia."

And contrary to what this post said before, I'm not changing my name, unless I decide to change it to "Pirates of the Sid Meier."

Wait that sounds pretty cool, yeah I change my name to Pirates of the Sid Meier.

... and just because I can, I lay an entirely separate claim on Malta (121 sq. miles). Of course I don't claim it if it is already Byzie land or meet strong Med. opposition to this.

Byzantium, you are being totally uncooperative. "We lowered our GDP. Now it's infinity." You really need to stop making yourself a glorified version of the US, and play the game fairly. My country is third-world, with a bare minimum of a military and very poor.

Also, could someone clarify how I am claiming too much land? I vote

FOR the Topia's claims

AGAINST Piratopia's claims

FOR the new war rules

YES to Topia's claims, NO to Pirates, that's too many islands, and YES to the rules change. I also propose the amendment that your roll shall face a penalty if it is High Number You/Low Number Enemy a suspiciously high number of times.

I thought it was obvious both of us are talking about Pirate.

large landclaim?

the Falklands, Seychelles, Mauritius, Djibouti, Bahrain, Qatar, Eastern Ethiopia, Comoros, Reunion, and Iceland

I think that's a LITTLE BIT larger than DysUtopia's claims

Mine isn't large at all. They claim more than 1,600,000 square miles - over 1,400,000 more than I claim.

Most of my islands I claim are close together, around Somalia, with a few other islands out of the way.

With it's case with the Canaries and such finally ended, the Marian Empire would like to press claims to the following:

Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, St. Helena, Tristan de Cunha, Ascension Islands, Sao Tome and Principe, Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, St. Vincent & the Grenadines

While it seems quite large in terms of numbers, it is actually a very small addition relative to say, the Philippines, Iran, etc. as shown by:

MarianClaimsinAtlantic.png

Where Marian claims are in black.

The Marian Empire's rationale is primarily trade-oriented, but more specifically:

1. The Marian Empire gave up half of what it could have taken previously, even if it did gain an ally in the process.

2. The Marian Empire's British components yearn to reclaim several of the Caribbean Islands, in fact, countless numbers of them, but the Emperor has cut this number down to 4 for the time being. These islands will also secure a route to the now-neutral Panama C anal.

3. Besides historical claims on them, the Marian Empire would like Ascension, Tristan de Cunha, and St. Helena to assure safe routes to the Indian Ocean.

4. Cape Verde would be an excellent station into the South Atlantic. The Marian Empire is willing to compromise on these islands, however, provided it can obtain a secure enough piece to aid it's shipping southward.

5. Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and Sao Tome and Principe are in the middle of a potentially-unstable region. The Marian Empire wishes to establish a sizeable "home away from home" here, so as to help protect the South Atlantic islands, as well as be able to ensure the political - and therefore economic and commercial - stability of Africa, and this region would be perfect, as well as pleasing the French faction of the Marian Empire. The Marian Empire is willing to shrink it's exact claim here somewhat, but would like a sizeable chunk of land in order to be able to protect it's South Atlantic possessions more easily.

Details: The Marian Empire wishes to secure shipping routes south, east, and west through the acquisition of mostly-negligible, but strategically-located territories.

8 for (Marian Empire, Choxorn, Carthagistan, Pirates, Tibet, Zelalta, CCCP, Peronland)
1 against (USA)

The Marian Foreign Ministry would also like to note that it shall vote reciprocally, based on nation's votes for it's recent set of claims. Those who vote yes shall have Marian support for their own claims; those who vote no will have Marian disapproval.

Eh, sure, take them (YES). I'll vote for Piratopia's claims if I can see a map of exactly what he wants.
