Imperium Offtopicum - UN Building

While the Caliphate's delegation acknowledges that Israel's move was unwarranted, Byzantium's reaction was a deliberate aggravation of the situation. As the statues are situated on sovereign territory of their respective nations, we do not believe the United Nations has any jurisdiction in the matter. We can act as moderators, but not arbitrators.

..the UN ARE arbitrators.

Do you even know what the UN is?

Is there a vote for stopping all the pointless, "Terrorist from your country did this to me" and the "Oh, well, then I'm gonna go a build an ugly statue" stuff and get to some real diplomacy, warring, and alliance building we had in the old days?

If not, I vote both statues be destroyed and we forget about it.

Oh, but this is the perfect flashpoint for regional conflict!

Byzantium-Israeli statue crisis

Israel built a 1000 statue of someone flipping the bird to Constantinople. i ask him to remove it, he refuses, destroyed the statue and built another one 500 feet higher.

the Byzantine peopel were pissed, so i built a two thousand fet tall statue of myself sticking a middle finger to Israel. he apparently likes it.

i offered a deal to tear down both statues and sell each other's lands for a billion dollars, which was refused.

so i came to the UN to request that israel tear down his statue and sell me his unused embassy lands. i will tear mine down and sell my land to him in return.

( sorry if i dont make sense, it was a long day so far)

Simply put, NOBODY CARES

Oh, but this is the perfect flashpoint for regional conflict!

i do not want a conflict. not with the stupid way mad man uses.

i also vote for stopping all pointless stuff. exept terrorism. its a great way to get action.

If you vote to end all pointless stuff, why did you bring up the statue issue?

No, it can't. Because it won't, as the task is so mundane and pointless, I don't even know why I'm posting this sentence.

I vote Against.

Also, I plead the UN to just officially proclaim I won the 4th Crusade so he'll stop whining about "How much the Latin Empire failed", even though said empire's failing had nothing to do with said crusade.

automatically defied. this happend in the OTL, not mine. sorry. to acknowledge the 4th crusade i must also put int he same crusade into my timeline. a little impractical.

Oh, yes...your timeline.

I vote to recognise Venice's victory in the Fourth Crusade.

Yet more proof that your "timeline" doesn't fit with the facts! Such rampant revisionism cannot go unpunished! I vote in Venice's favour.

im so sick and tired of telling everyone this: the Republic came from its own native time line. NOW LISTEN TO IT!

if there is any revisionism, its revisionism to include YOU GUYS in!

The Caliphate concurs that the Fourth Crusade did happen, and that Venice did emerge victorious.

The Caliphate also voices its concern that given Byzantium's precedent for historical revisionism, nothing it says can be trusted at face value. The Caliphate renews its call for universal trade sanctions.
