what reasons would that be?

the logistics seem fine, the reach of that group seems rather small for tis size, they had grievances with both the pope and Byzantium, and they hate muslims.

For anyone who doesn't know how to zoom in - all you do is select your region and copy it. Then you paste in the corner and make the entire map smaller.

The option next to the select tool (highlight part of the image) is the word crop. Select the part of the map you want to zoom in on, and then push crop. the rest of the map will be deleted. Thats how I did it.
