Candidate Roland Crowley has won the Presidential election for the Libertarian party, first winning 32% in the first vote and after instant runoff, 57% of all votes. While politics has lately favored a greater role for the USSR abroad, this election was highly centered on the conflict along the eastern border.

Crowley has run on armed neutrality, earning him a large amount of votes from Conservatives and Social Democrats alike. He plans to strengthen the USSR's deterrence capability enormously while in office, as well as improve ties with allies.

Long story short, the UAS usergroup somehow became public and people started posting ilduce's and Dommy's plans to make WAAAAGH! on a whole bunch of nations (the "Death List"). ilduce didn't realize their discussions weren't private and started accusing everyone of treason and booting all but themselves, you and MaxaTheGreat from the group. Japan actually DOW'ed Praetoria and threatened to DOW the Caliphate before he finally learned that technically "he" was the mole. The UAS has since disbanded.

The USSR proposes that Eralatuk, Burgundy, the Caliphate, etc. all get together and draw up agreeable SoIs with eachother. It's worked wonders in the Americas, so it should work just as well in Africa.
