Nations who have yet to stipulate their position on the UN

Nothing at all has been received from:

The Exiled Dictator considers the UN to be an abomination.

We are currently reviewing the UN charter to make sure it provides sufficient protections of member sovereignty.

Also we said to use our focus on lower education for now.

The Pacific will remain clear of any military activity.

Australia will abide by this, so long as GEAR doesn't take any military advantage during the conflict.

IE attempting to take Australian or PAU Islands in Oceania.

Can the war declarations wait till after the update? It's soft lock afterall.

I Second this.

Orders and Some RP later tonight

the Roman Emperor notes that the PAU military strength on paper is only 22, while the total allied strength is 80.

the Roman Empire itself has 11. half that of the entire frigging PAU.

this may just be on paper, but its a forgone conclusion that the PAU will lose this war, because of their pathetic military.

OOC: When I was Japan, the odds were even worse and I still managed to inflict many defeats. Although, I had 40 not 22. But, anyway, do not underestimate your enemy unless you want a second Taiwan.

The Tsar of Russia will refrain from requesting inclusion in the United Nations at this time, although His Imperial Majesty does not preclude applying for UN membership at some future date.

In other news, due to continuing concerns regarding Volgan intentions, the Tsardoms scientists shall be given priority to develop instruments of national defence, to be used in the event of an attack by hostile forces.

Spoiler :
Education (Higher) -Assigned to research into a nuclear deterrent and into related defensive military technologies

Welcome to IOT, and to the American neighborhood! :)

We're generally a pretty open community; don't act like a dink to us and we'll be fine to you is how it generally goes. If you have any questions, you can ask one of us either by PM or on the chat (which I believe you've been on it already, but it's novaiot.chatango.com)

Robert Can't, Thorvald of Lym, Sonereal, or myself are some pretty good people to PM about the current status of this game or about IOT in general. Welcome to the community!

OOC: we have no intention to invade north America itself until we at least manage to destroy the navy. after that, well, its up to Germany, since we doubt an invasion unsupported by them will go over well.

Australia's Stealth Fleet

5 years ago The Republic of Greater Australia and New Zealand decided it needed to update its navy. The old navy consisted mostly of Cold War and 21st century era ships that had been maintained and upgraded through the years. Because of the prototypes success in the conflict against Oceania, these ships have been put into full production and have already replaced most of Australia's navy, with more being produced every day to sell to other nations and to defend Australia's territories. Having replaced around 2/3rds of their old navy, we have decided to take a look at Australia's new navy and see how it shapes up compared to the tried and true ships of the past.

Australia's military doctrine has recently been, Get there fast, Strike Hard, and leave. The new Navy follows this doctrine to a T.

First is Australia's destroyer. The ANZAC Class Missile Frigate.

zumwalt_large.jpg

The ANZAC Missile Frigate serves 2 main roles in the Australian Navy. The ANZAC can use its long range cruise missiles to damage and destroy high priority targets from miles away, acting sort of like the "Artillery" of the ANZAC navy. In addition the ANZAC is used in an anti-submarine role and scout role, through the use of a small scout helicopter that can be stationed on either the ANZAC or the Griggs Aircraft Carrier.

The next ship is dubbed the Canberra Class Cruiser.

BattleshipGDI_CC3_Game1.jpg

This multi-role cruiser is armed with 4 advanced Rail guns, able to hit targets much farther away and with a lot more punch than a conventional battleship gun. In addition to the rail guns the Canberra Cruiser is armed with 2 SAM banks to help defend against enemy aircraft, and also carriers a fair amount of long range cruise missiles to be used in a similar role to those on the ANZAC frigates.

Finally the pride of the Australian Fleet, the Griggs Class Aircraft Carrier.

Pdnhqcb.png

A revolution in naval warfare not seen since the original Aircraft Carriers, the Griggs is able to remain small and fast because of the use of Australia's growing drone fleet. The First Drone, The Sittella Strike Drone, was created with help from Indonesian engineers years ago. Still one of the highest functioning drones, the Sittella is just one of the drones in use on Griggs Class Carriers. Caring Sittella strike drones, CAC Sabre II Fighter Drones, and CAC Kangaroo II fighter-bombers. The Griggs carries a heavy payload of drone craft, but these aren't its only armament. Armed with four separate FLAK cannons and multiple VOTL/Helicopter landing pads the Griggs is a force of its own to be reckoned with. When supported by Canberra and the ANZAC however, it can give almost any other navy a run for its money.

All of these ships however share a few major traits. They are designed to be small, fast, and for the ANZAC and the Canberra, some form of radar stealth, are designed to be difficult to hit because of these factors. Secondly they all use a miniature version of the Thorium Reactors that Australia had developed, this gives them an almost unlimited range and an almost unlimited fuel supply.

All ships are organized into Carrier groups, consisting of one or two Griggs class Carriers, up to five Canberra Cruisers, and up to seven ANZAC Frigates.

An actual working Space Elevator?
This is a good year to be Australia. During the past five years the Australian government of Australia-New Zealand has been building up their space program. There have been a couple rocket launches and scientific expeditions, taken somewhat from the former Indonesian Space Program. The The Australian Space Research Institute has been testing the waters of a "Space Elevator" ASRI scientists and engineers have been spending the past five years hard at work planing, theorizing, and testing materials. From what they were able to disclose, The planing and theorizing stage has been mostly completed, and a site for the elevator has been chosen. Unfortunately they were unable to disclose the location of the site due to fears of sabotage. However with most of the planing and theoretical part of the Elevator mostly completed construction will begin this year.

If the ASRI can pull this off it will be a massive boon to space travel and exploration, and one of mankind's greatest achievements.

OOC: Sorry about not having this done sooner.
Australian National Focus:
[Higher Education]

The United Android Democratic Federation

Location: Venezuela, Columbia and Amazonia

Government: Robocratic Federal Republic
Spoiler :
Federal Republic ruled by
Androids, though the country is home to humans and cyborgs, but one
must be fully an Android to be in the government, though citizenship
is not contingent on being a robot. It is ruled over by a 51 member
senate, all elected by the people. Every 6 years the federal senate
elects one of their own to lead them, referred to as High Senator. The
states are governed in a similar fashion. There is no limitations to
the amount of terms any governmental position can serve. Its leader is
named A0954874900431432 Sub-Alfa, referred to as "Xeron" who has held
the seat as High Senator for the past 20 years and is well liked by
both the people and the senate. The Capital is where current day
Caracas is, now called "New Granada" referring to the name the region
had 400 years ago. The country's focus is on science and technology,
developing new tech in all fields, and hopes to be a major contributor
in the world. They also have a focus on high education for the organic
population (since Androids have computers for brains, education is
rather easy).

Religion: The Robots are mostly Atheist or Agnostic, the largest relgion other than that is Roman Catholic, but no real "state religion" over all.

Military: All natural born citizens and any Androids that have
immigrated are required to go through 2 years of military training,
therefore in the case of war the majority of the population could
fight. War actions are controlled by the senate, as well as
organization.

Language: English, Spanish (A fair number of Androids are proficient
in many languages)

Foreign Policy: open to trade agreements and other friendships
between countries. Are ready for war, but would prefer to avoid it.

More later

OOC: hey this is Terran posting on behalf of Satan everything is his, im just posting.

The New Role of Thailand

Speech of Chancellor Yingjang Shinawatra

"With the takeover of Indonesia by extremists, it is now time for Thailand to play the role of the power that secures peace and stability in South-East Asia. Thailand has long been a peace-loving nation which avoids military conflicts. However, in the interests of peace and stability, Thailand will have to police South-East Asia and take military action against extremists and against those who threaten the peace and stability of the region and, indeed, that of the entire world.

Indonesia will be the first test of Thailand. In Indonesia, Thailand shall test it's powers and see if it can take that new role. The Government of Indonesia was overthrown in a bloody civil war by 'feminist' extremists who have established a belligerent and extremist state that threatens the peace of the region. Thailand shall not accept such extremism in South-East Asia.

For this reason, the Thai Royal Navy shall impose a total blockade of Indonesia and the Thai Royal Air Force shall bombard all military bases and power stations in Indonesia. The operation, nicknamed "Storm Eagles", shall be under the command of General of Light Sukhumbhand Paribatra. Our military mission shall try to avoid civilian casualties and the blockade, while total, will allow medical supplies to enter the country.

Thailand hopes that with this mission, it shall force the Indonesian Government to resign and organize free and fair elections for the Indonesian people to decide their future. If, however, the extremists persist to power, then Thailand may have to make use of it's Marine Corps. This will not end up well for the Indonesian Extremists, so we hope that they will step down peacefully now that they can."

Any military action against the Nation of Indonesia will be seen as an Aggressive against the Republic of Greater Australia and New Zealand, I Would advise that Thailand remain in South East Asia.

Indonesia is too close to Australia for anyone other than a backwater or myself to control it.

This is an issue of Australian National Security, not one of whether or not Thailand is justified in its war.

Did Australia miss the declaration of war by Thailand?

Several pages ago?

Firstly, Indonesia is in South-East Asia.
Secondly, see my PM reply.

Indonesia is too close to Australia for anyone other than a backwater or myself to control it.

Thirdly, unlike an Imperialist power like you, we do not want to annex or control Indonesia. We are just overthrowing extremists and organizing free and fair elections. And no land troops are involved.

Remember, Thailand, that the UN is ran by authoritarian imperialists.
