I am still thinking about what I want to play, I have two ideas that are kinda similar but I need to think and let them stew for a bit, but I don't really want to worry too too much about being claimed over so here are my two spots for an idea.

(people please give Africa and south America some love)

Obviously these claims are negotiable if someone wants to enter the subcontinent as well, but for now, this is what I am going for. My nation is going to be based out of Uttar Pradesh for reference, so I would perfer to keep North India if this comes to that.

    Name: New Bharat
    High Concept: Neo-Buddhist Radical Egalitarians
Trouble: Live by the Sword, Die by the Sword - The unification of Bharat was long, arduous, and most of all: bloody. The only thing keeping the state together is a tenuous grasp of military power, as the various petty warlords, reactionaries, and remaining Olympians are kept in place by the large and fanatical Revolutionary Army of Bharat.
    Aspects:

Break the Castes - In India, the conflict between Eloi and Morlocks was complicated further due to the influence of the caste system. Although the old Republic of India had legally abolished all forms of caste-based discrimination, the old attitudes reared their ugly heads, especially after the Republic collapsed into petty warlord states. The rise of transhumanism only further exasperated relations between castes, as Dalits in particular were often forced to be completely unmodified: a social taboo that was enforced even by "Morlocks" who wanted to keep their place as being higher than at least the Dalits in the social totem.

The formation of the Dalits into a major political force in post-collaspe India, however, led to a revolutionary fervor against the caste system and even Hinduism as a whole. Those whom were part of the Revolutionary Army embraced transhumanism, and in some cases some communities were forcefully modified to bring everyone into the same baseline. Property was redistributed, and often collectivized, particularly within the rural countryside. Bhramins, and to a lesser extent privileged members of the Kshatriya, were forced to work manual labor, in order to "rehabilitate" them into society. Hinduism is much maligned (tolerated, but religious sites are often harassed by the state), and Neo-Buddhism along the lines of Dr. Ambedkar has become the official state religion.

Unity in Diversity - India is an extremely diverse subcontinent, with dozens of spoken languages and various cultural practices, to the point where it would be nearly impossible to say that there is a single "Indian" identity. Climate change has forced migrations across the continent, as entire villages were upended and tried to find safe havens. This reluctant cross-contamination of cultures have led to some strife in certain communities, but the government of New Bharat has embraced the diversity, hoping that it could potentially foster an all-Bharat national identity.

    Twenty-Two Vows
    - The Neo-Buddhism of New Bharat demands an ever-foward mentality: traditionalism is the sign of reactionary oppression, and any calls to preserve the past is reactionary political thought. While technology may have been used in the past irresponsibly, it was the evil in the person's heart, not the tool itself to be blamed. Therefore, New Bharat keeps an optimistic outlook on the role and development of technology in its ability to help foster social justice. Transhumanism is embraced, to build a better human that is able to overcome the limitations of the flesh that hinder nirvana. AI and robotics are seen as nessecary tools as well, and there is great interest by especially the Revolutionary Army of Bharat to reverse engineer Olympians in order to create more stable, docile platforms to assist combat maneuvers: this willingness to embrace robotics is often credited for some of the most stunning victories in its unification campaign.

    Approaches:

    Covert: 0
    Charm: 1
    Force: 2
    Science: 1
    Thrift: 0

Stunt: Permanent Nirvana - New Bharat sees itself as a revolutionary vanguard against the old world and its vices and sins. Although its radical interpretation of Buddhism is endemic to the Indian subcontinent, and is very much philosophically opposed to the more traditional schools, it does not mean it doesn't have any interfaith dialogue. Moreover, the success of New Bharat, in itself, serves as a vehicle to justify Neo-Buddhism in other countries, especially those with a pre-existing Buddhist tradition. New Bharat considers it a national imperative to tap into these foreign networks, in order to help foster similar revolutions from underprivileged classes against their ruling masters.

May use Charm instead of Covert to build and foster revolutionary activities in nations with significant Buddhist populations.

Name: Oka no Tenei-ni-wa-ko, or "The Peaceful Garden of Cherry Blossoms"

High Concept: Isolationistic Automated Irenic Technocracy

    Trouble: Severe Xenophobia

    Aspects:

Robotic Isolationism - When interaction with the outside world is necessary, it's done with very sophisticated A.I. and robotic machinery. These A.I. subroutines are perfectly capable of acting independently but operate according to the strictures of the Central Bureaucracy.

Supreme Utilitarianism - "Personal choice" is an illusory concept in this society. "What needs to be done is done by those capable" is their creed, and all people are free to pursue their personal hobbies and passions as long as their social obligations are taken care of first.

Machine Emperor - The nation is run by an artificial intelligence that micromanages every major executive decision in the government.

    Name: Nusantara

    High Concept: Maritime Technocratic Palace-economy

Trouble: Lack of sufficient farmland means rationing is mandatory, famine is always lurking around the corner and constant expansion into limited fertile land puts Nusantara into constant conflict with any existing people.

    Aspects:

Centralised Economy: The collapse of the ecosystem and the political status quo also led to the destruction of the economies of the former South-East Asian nations, and the central authority of the capitals shrunk further and further. The Nusanatran Elite refuse to allow such a shame to happen again, and maintain a mostly state-run economy.

The Dolphin Corps: Meanwhile, Singapore's heavy usage of Olympians led to sizable swaths of the region's armies and law enforcement being suppressed or even wiped out. The Nusantaran marines, The Dolphins, serve as both an anti-piracy force while also exploring (and looting) what areas they can. Don't bring up the looting part in front of their faces.

The Ministers: The final culmination was the joining of the elites of Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Brunei to save what little remained of their states. While the terms Eloi and Murlock never gained traction in the region, a similar class division took place between what will become the Nusantaran Elite (who call themselves the Ministers) and the destitute remains of the rest of the population (who lack an overall official term, but the Singaporean masses do call themselves the Handless, while Malays call themselves Soil).

Nowadays, the Ministers serve as the upper class, performing research, designing new military gear, planning the economy and rebuilding their cities bit by bit. However, xenophobia, classism and jingoism is ripe among them, and Nusantara is distrusted on some level by nearly all their neighbours.

Name: The Empire of the Great Suan, Da Suan 大算

High Concept: Legalistic Authoritarian Bureaucratic Despotism

Trouble: Liberal Agitation - People who remember storied days of socialist republics and liberal democracies demand the return of liberty, equality, and freedom. They are a nuisance.

    Aspects:

Sophisticated Bureaucracy - The country is largely governed by a highly sophisticated bureaucracy, which observes the tenets of a tiringly long-winded code of laws. Corruption is a thing of the past, and advancement in the bureaucracy is entirely merit-based, with nobility and noble titles illegal.

Mandate of Heaven - A concept generally regarded as antiquated, the current government began as a warlord state following the collapse of the People's Republic of China. This warlord state was first based in Taiyuan and then, later, Chongqing, and eventually defeated all its rivals to subjugate China utterly. It justifies its rule by asserting it has earned the mandate of the heavens - and with China united, who can really argue?

Suan Dynasty - The ruling dynasty rejects noble titles as "uncivilized," but the descendants of the conqueror-queen, Hua Mingxua (courtesy name Xidao), nevertheless occupy a position of privilege. They possess no actual power, however, the family merely being symbolic of the state and the nation. They are beloved by some as virtuous icons and derided by others as a new nobility. The true executive power in the country is wielded by the Lord Protector, who is appointed by the Chancelry of Ministries to rule for life on the death of the previous protector. In Mandarin the name is Tai-Mufu, also sometimes called Taisha, 太幕府. Sometimes the name is Anglicized as "Grand Moff."

    Stunt

Gardeners of Penglai: The majority of the Suan's subjects live lives of quiet dignity as state gardeners, restoring the lands damaged by the Age of Greed and peacefully meditating in nature. Da Suan may spend a Fate Point to remove a minor economic stability consequence.

Hi everyone! I'm enjoying your signups and am very happy about the interest in the game. However, your silly GM in his excitement to bring this game to you forgot an important part of the ruleset, stunts! Stunts are one of my favourite parts about FATE so I feel very silly for forgetting them. Everyone starts with one stunt. What are stunts? I'll quote the part I added to the rules:

The boost is generally a +2 to all rolls involving a specific scenario or the ability to use one approach over another in a specific scenario. Please add a stunt to all existing signups, sorry for the inconvenience.

Their have been many strange activities showing up lately in the dome cites network that show the Olympian which the high ups have thought was destroyed turn out is actually semi conscious. This has caused a huge uproar as the many higher officials know the dangers of these thinking machine. The scientists in charge don't know if/when this Olympian will wake or how it would react to human in it area.
    Aspects:
    Dome Cites:
The worldwide environmental collapse left heavy scars upon the people of Madagascar. The occurrence of unpredictable weather devastated the nations cites and show no stop any time soon. Many believed that this was the end of such beautiful island country but that all that changed when they discovered a fallen Olympian wash up on to their shores. The name of this massive machine was Gaia. This machine gave them the technology they need to help build dome cites to protect themselves against the harsh weathers.
Limited Olympians green tech: The acquirement of Olympian tech has lead many advances in solar/wind powered tech but the government till have extreme regulation laws on such tech especially tech that pertains to thinking machinery.
From Top to Bottom: The pursuit of the betterment of the environment has cause the nation to adopt a classless society similar to communism. The Eloi and the Morlock can't be at odds with each other during these time of rebuilding and renewal.

Current claims map, from both the thread and good chat claims. Note that these claims are very negotiable, I will consider claiming over someone's non-"core" area entirely valid. Some claims and colours have been adjusted for aesthetic purposes.

@Thorvald of Lym @GenMarshall claims are placeholder colours until I get proper signups.

@Everblack As discussed on chat I'll need you to revise your lore before I can add you to the map.

    Katsuyoshi Shogunate

    High Concept: Technostalgic neo-Shogunate
    Capital: Tokyo
    Emperor: Takahiro
    Shōgun: Katsuyoshi Satoshi

Historically resource-poor, Japan suffered greatly when the meteorite strikes upended the world order and destroyed global trade, leading to mass starvation as food imports evaporated and much of the technocratic infrastructure literally ran out of fuel. The Olympian revolt overwhelmed the Self-Defence Forces, exploiting increased computerization in its late-century military buildup to compromise and neutralize entire garrisons before a human response could be mustered. With much of the professional military effectively murdered in its sleep, the so-called "National Resistance Army" was hastily assembled from a mix of civilian volunteers, criminal desperados, and forced conscription. The mainland Olympian network was eventually destroyed, but at the cost of tens of millions dead and widespread desolation of the countryside. Japan's devastated population is still struggling to recover.

With the civilian government reduced to irrelevance, power shifted to history's traditional fall-back: empowered military strong-men. The tenuous unity of the National Resistance Army imploded as persistent disarray led to communications and supply breakdowns, and central control fractured. A neo-Sengoku ensued as the old JSDF commanders attempted to secure stability in their individual districts, while NRA hotheads became regional warlords, converting command hierarchy into personal fealty, raiding and pillaging rival commanders for desperately-needed food and supplies.

Within this maelstrom emerged one of the NRA's most asupicious officers of the "New Guard", Naoki Eguchi. An accountant before the Collapse, shrewd tactical acumen combined with personal bravery won him the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel by war's end. Stationed in Gifu Prefecture at the start of the civil war, Eguchi took command of his warband after his commanding officers were killed in a border raid, leading a reprisal campaign that decapitated the enemy leadership and secured his soldiers' allegiance. Realizing prolonged division would bleed the country dry, Eguchi opted not to settle and instead led his army in the "March to Tokyo", recruiting what warbands he could and slaughtering the warlords that resisted. Upon arrival he pledged his allegiance to the national government and was granted an audience with the Emperor, where he petitioned for Imperial sanction that he could use to bring the other warlords in line.

Initial campaigns were conducted in concert with other Tokyo-aligned factions. Eguchi frequently leveraged his wartime reputation with JSDF brass to reinforce his legitimacy, and his willingness to lead from the front boosted his image among the soldiers and earned the respect of rival commanders. After unification of central Honshu, he was named Supreme Commander de jure by Imperial decree; by 2100 a combination of diplomatic manoeuvring and brute force had restored central authority over the mainland. Eguchi was initially reluctant to acknowledge his effective rule over Japan, but his popularity combined with his old accounting background convinced him to stay on as a stabilizing force and a somewhat-competent administrator in his own right, adopting the surname Katsuyoshi as a symbol of his prestigious position. Military logistics became the backbone to postwar recovery, with the armed forces pulling double-duty as local police.

What Katsuyoshi had assumed would be a ceremonial title solidified into a bona fide dynastic tradition by the end of his life. His descendant Satoshi, groomed for political office, is both a military commander and career statesman, ad-hoc martial law now resembling organized and tempered authority. While Japan has stabilized over the last century, it is still far from normalcy as chronic supply shortages stymie recovery and old battlefields are mined for salvageable materials. Even so, there is now true optimism that a renaissance is riding in on the next sunrise. Although essentially a figurehead office, the Imperial Family nonetheless acts as an anchor tethering the old Japan to the new.

    Trouble: The Tool Wears Down
Despite the legacy of Olympus, Japanese society reached its zenith thanks to high technology, and in the wake of the Collapse technological innovation is the only thing preventing a complete regression to agrarian feudalism. However, whatever equipment survived the civil war in a usable state is a cherished luxury, as supply shortages starve a power grid shattered into pieces and crucial imports ended decades prior. Even as basic habitation, transport and communications services are afforded maximum priority in maintenance and upkeep, there are simply not enough spare parts to go around, and even the more prosperous cities routinely cannibalize what are sometimes priceless artifacts to keep the remainder in working condition.

    Approaches
    Covert:
    1
    Charm: 0
    Force: 1
    Science: 2
    Thrift: 0

    Stunt: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
Decades of living in a demand-side economy have honed R&D's skill in maximizing the utility of even the slimmest advantage, while the general populace knows how to draw out limited supplies for as long as possible. Whenever a Science action related to economic technology Succeeds with Style, you may add +2 to the next roll about attempting to overcome a stability consequence. Stackable.

    Aspects

    Carry the Torch Forward

Electronics made modern Japan, and even in the midst of social collapse technological innovation (or at least, its sustenance) remains at the forefront of economic and scientific concerns. While the Collapse exposed the country's crippling addiction to high-tech gadgetry, the climate upheaval only underscores how critical it is to keeping the archipelago even borderline habitable, and salvageable equipment is treated with cult-like reverence. Until global trade becomes viable once more, the nation must rely on any and all means at its disposal, constantly looking for new uses of old techniques to mitigate its historical handicap.

    Solid State Society
The scars of Olympus run deep, and a country that once wielded the razor's edge of robotic intelligence now casts a wary eye over so-called "thinking machines". In its place, human excellence has resurged, due in no small part to the precarious situation of the Japanese technological base. Nowhere is this exemplified more than the armed forces: enduring impossible odds, brutal weather, and their own comrades-turned-competitors, the survivors of the National Resistance Army were bloodied into some of the most tenacious fighters in the world. Mid-level computers still feature prominently in command-and-control and industrial automation, but advanced AI has been outlawed on grounds of national security. Technology may complement humanity, but never again may it supplement.

    Brothers Broken in Arms
During the Collapse, gene-splicing contributed to an early-war foray into supersoldiers. While only a few rose to prominence within the NRA, during the civil war they were frequently derided as glory-hounds, often leveraging their augmentations to joust for leadership even when they lacked field experience—of the seventeen known Eloi warlords, twelve were wartime inductees, and eight of those were ill-reputed for thuggish leadership. This prompted a postwar backlash by Morlock vets who lambased "rich poseurs" "buying" their way past blue-collar conscripts that had earned their reputation (and their rank) with their own, unoptimized blood; meanwhile, "pre-war" Eloi were frequent draft-dodgers and avoided frontline combat, allegedly claiming they were more valuable in restoring the population. This was a common motivator in defections to Katsuyoshi's army, and most of those Eloi that supported him were demoted to mid-level commands after the civil war in order to prevent mutiny. The war's onset ended genemods as an organized industry, but the antipathy remains; while Eloi are undoubtedly an asset to the armed forces, promotion to general officership is throttled to prevent them consolidating as a faction within the top brass.

    Types of Olympians:

There are many types of Olympians, many quite unique. Many have never been seen before. Perhaps there were some Olympians created by governments in secret? Or are they creating new types (“breeding”) as some have theorised?

Land Olympians: Land Olympians are the standard type of Olympians, military complexes that contain an AI control system. These have been mostly eliminated in “civilised” areas, although in the more chaotic regions of the world they are a major threat to humans. Their stationary nature puts them at a major disadvantage.

Burrowing Olympians: Land Olympians who have adapted their systems to borrow deep underground. As unpredictable as ever, many Burrowing Olympians are passive. And some seem passive until they poke their heads above ground and send killer drones out seemingly at random. These are a major pest in areas with a lot of landmass (e.g Europe, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas) even for established nations as destroying these Olympians outside of when they attack is incredibly difficult.

Naval Olympians: Naval Olympians are Olympians that are underwater. Due to the incredible depths that they can travel, they are difficult to fish out even with submarines. Sometimes they can passive. Sometimes they only seem to attack vessels at sea, such as the notorious B.I.G Olympian in the Mediterranean. Sometimes they also attack coastal cities as well, although this usually elicits a major response from the nation being attacked and usually results in the destruction of the Olympian. Naval Olympians are a major challenge to any naval venture.

Aerial Olympians: Thankfully these types of Olympians have not been spotted in decades. Whenever a Land Olympian evolves to attain sustained flight, they are considered a major threat by almost every world nation. Long time rivals have come together to take these avatars of destruction down.

Space Olympians: By the grace of whatever deity(ies) that are out there, Space Olympians had crews that opted to destroy them when their bosses no longer could pick up the phone and they saw the destruction on Earth. Humanity would truly have little recourse if a feral Olympian ever decided to go into space.
