Improved Mesoamerican Conquest

Huastecs by Wikipedia.
I suggest they be Agricultural and Religious.
The huastecs were a same unit with the Mayan peoples about the XV century B.C.
Later on, during the migrations, they wereseparated from the rest of the Mayans by other peoples, like nahuatls.
From about 200 B.C. the Huastec culture had a little "apogee" which distinguished it even more from the surrounding peoples. This era lasted until about 800 A.D. During this time the society seems to have been a teocratical one, stratified in classers and with a developed commerce and artisans, directed by the teocracy/oligarchy. The Huastec lords, who didn´t manage to form a League, were slowly conquered by the allies of Tenochtitlan, Texcoco & Tlacopan.
That was from my enciclopaedia.

:bump: Is there anyone still interested in this scenario? Because I am, and I wouldn´t like to see so much work wasted...

I put a lot of work too here. Like uploading a file for a slinger, or other stuff...
Where´s the creator, Red Alert?

While we hope for his return... can we keep on? There must be someone who had the files beside Red

I'm kind of interested in this on the side.... I aggree with Sword that the Andean civs should have some tech representing contact with the Polynesians.... It's been proven, via a Polynesian using a modern built replica of a Polynesian Catmaran called the Kontiki, that it was indeed possible for the polynesian voyagers to sail to the coast of South America. This, in conjunction with the fact that the Polynesians and Other SE Asian civilizations (such as the Japanese) had been growin Sweet Potatoes long before they made contact with Europe, and Sweet Potatoes are S. American in origin, as well as the fact that Manihot has been grown in S. and Meso America since the same time, and Manihot is endemic to SE Asia pretty much proves that such trades did happen.

OK, Japan would be more E. Asian, but it has had dealing with the Phillipines and a few other SE Asian countries.

The tech should be Polynesian Trading or Polynesian contact.... And though sweet potatoes may have been introduced into china by europeans, however, other polynesian countries, such as Hawaii, Indonesia, New Guinea (which about half the people are more closely related to the australlian aboriginees), and other small islands were already cultivating sweet potatoes when the first european explorers discovered their islands.... Another thing indicating a trade between S. america and the polynesian peoples is that banana leaves were found in some pre-colombian tombs in the Amazon rain forest, and all bananas come from either China, SE asia, or the middle east. There was also some other endemic SA plant that was cultivated by the polynesians, which I can't recall at the moment....

well it is possible that it could have been from drift wood, how did plants and animals get to Hawaii, I dont think polynesians did it themselves? I dont know which is correct. I was just telling you about Japanese cooking ^ ^;;;

No, the Polynesians were quite accompished seafarers, even having "maps" made from strings arranged in a grid, which represented a certain distance, and shells, stones and pieces of wood representing different Islands. Additionally, Polynesian Catmarans and outriggers could carry a fair amount of cargo, which is one of the ways pigs were introduced throughout the South Pacific. Heck, the Polynesians even reached, and settled Madagascar long before Columbus "Discovered" America, and the feat of travelling from Indonesia to Madagascar would be equivalent to Columbus sailing accross the Atlantic (about the same distance, too).

Oh, stop arguing, you two! :whipped:
So, should we "postpone" this thing until Rise of Asia is done? Anyway, I have to make civ work. I uninstalled it (because it didn´t work), installed it in another folder and it still doesn´t work. :(

A "Polynesian Contact" tech could simply introduce a moderately improved Polynesian Government type either eliminating the "Standard Tile Penalty" or increasing the worker rate (both due to the high yields from potato crops).

Best,

Oz

Or it could Reveal some kind of Banana and/or Manihot bonus resources, or allow construction of Banana Plantation and/or Manihot Plantation city improvements....

And here I was thinking that Redalert had come back from the grave.
