In the year 2025, who will likely have the most posts?

Here is a list of the most prolific posters, atm: https://forums.civfanatics.com/members/

I think that, hopefully, it won't be me. I (can dream) will have an actual important career by then and will have fallen down to #3 or less :)

I think there are some candidates, maybe Warpus will take over for a while, but ultimately, in 5 years, I am not sure who will be #1. That said, it will be a great surprise if they aren't in the first 9 posters already...

Some of them have quit the forum. Bhsup hasn't been around in over 5 years, to my knowledge, and I can't recall when Formaldehyde last posted. It's been years. Tim quit recently, though I suspect he might come back some day.

LEXICUS WILL HAVE 98% OF THE FORUM'S POSTS
RESISTANCE IS FUTILE

At #11 now, I am pretty sure it won't be me. Getting to 50,000 or even 40 has never been a goal of mine. I suspect that the top poster in 2025 will be someone who is already well over 40,000 now.

IIRC @CurtSibling was first to 20,000 and @Perfection to 40,000. Perf has a RL now and is into equipment design I think.

^Takh is a good bet as well.

I think the five most likely (assuming I am not still 1) are (in no particular order) :
Cutlass
GenMarshall
Warpus (?)
Takhisis
and the dark horse El Machinae :)

Since @GenMarshall is back, maybe him.

It's going to be @Takhisis, he is unparalleled as a spammer. One day he will take his place at the top. I live in dread of that day, the Darkest Caturday.
People have to stop nightkilling me in mafia games.

Unless I start posting my NaNoWriMo stories. The first story I actually finished (in 2016) has over 62,000 words, which would have to be broken up over a heckuva lot of successive posts. That doesn't count the rest of my NaNoWriMo efforts (well over 200,000 words by this point; I'm going to pass 20,000 tonight for the current competition), or the fanfic and poetry and songs I've been writing over the past nearly 40 years (I will willingly spare everyone my first efforts, which were horrible).

I was towards the top for a while! But after being gone for a few years I slipped in rank.

I think I’ve mellowed out a lot since then. I don’t know why... but anyway, on to the topic, probably @Kyriakos will retain the top spot!

Who will be the first to break the six-digit barrier?

I think that, of those currently below (WH) 40K posts, you and perhaps Traitorfish are the only possibilities to be #1 in 2025 :)

I did some calculations years ago when I was still playing Civ (2/3) and I think it came out that 99% of my posts were in OT.

I have Civ5 but haven’t touched it in ages.

There's a guy over at TrekBBS who passed 100,000 posts years ago, and it's unlikely anyone will ever catch up to him (he's still there, still posting). The admins gave up creating new usergroups for the highest-level posters because there would be some with fewer than half a dozen people (on that forum there are hidden lounges accessible by people who have post count falling within a certain range, and the premium members with paid subscriptions - like yours truly - are allowed to access all of them). But even though I could have enter it earlier due to membership perks, I waited to post in the Admirals' Lounge - the highest level hidden subforum - until I had the requisite post count. It just didn't seem fair to scoot in earlier since many of the people there had been posting for 15-20 years. I still have two more levels of Admiralty to go before I've made it to the very top level, but at the rate I post on that forum, it will probably take another ten years.

Of course some of us here would have a much higher post count if we could have back what we did in the archived serial threads and - for some - the staff forum.
