incremental patch discussion

1. delete interface folder from within xml\modules

There is no assets/xml/modules folder. There is an assets/xml/interface folder, which contains 6 files. Is that what I should delete?

Precise instructions are important.
 
Assets/Modules/Interface is the folder to delete, *not* Assets/XML/Interface.
 
Finally, tracked down the lapping waves sound fx issue that was reported. It is happening because various features including the Spice have this set in CIV4FeatureInfos.xml:

<WorldSoundscapeAudioScript>ASSS_OASIS_SELECT_AMB</WorldSoundscapeAudioScript>

This sound is the lapping of waves effect. The tag can be removed completely from CIV4FeatureInfos.xml for now (apart from Oasis itself which can keep it).
 
Had 1.6.1e version.
Installed the post 642 version on top of it.
Deleted Assets/Modules/Interface folder.

Mod loaded.
Created game.
Turn 1: founded city, hit end turn.
CTD.
 
I think it need separate installation, isnt it? 1.6.2 + 1.6.2.2?
 
I did fresh install of 1.6.2.2, but I get CTD at end of first turn. I deleted the modules/interface folder.

Attached savegame. Move scout 3 tiles up on the mesa tile and then hit end turn. The game crashes.

No 1.6.2.2 is a full install, not an incremental patch.

"no need yo use any of the patches"
is not the same as
"Cannot be installed over 1.6.1e, and contains the entire mod".
 
Deleted entire Dunewars folder.
Installed 1.6.2.2

Load mod: no errors
Create game.
Move units, found city, hit end turn: CTD.
 
I am now in the process of uploading 1.6.3 and updating all the locations. For the next few minutes, there will be some missing / broken links, because I cannot upload and update all the files simultaneously.

Unfortunately I am not able to get mentats to work consistently, and I would prefer to debug it on my own rather than uploading something buggy so everybody can run into the same issues in parallel. So the Mentat units and buildings are present, but the cost of the Mentat unit is -1 so it cannot be built.

Please find attached the updated issues spreadsheet. I will edit this post in 20-30 minutes when everything looks done.

I think that deleting the Assets/Modules/Interface folder is not a good fix - in fact it breaks the mod.

Instead of that copy (not move) the file CIV4ModularLoadingControlsSchema.xml from the folder Assets/Modules to Assets/Modules/Interface.

I have played several turns with 1.6.2.2 having done this.

i have a fully working version , ive been doing things on it all weekend (ive been trying to implement an all land map into it - for my own fun just to see what i can do with this), so dont worry once 1.6.3 will be up, ill update 1.6.3.1 and i will make sure to test it for nasty bugs like in 1.6.2.2,

This worked for a while. I was able to play ~100 turns until the game crashed in between turns.

Rather than editing I will put a new post. I believe all the links which need to be created and updated are now there, so 1.6.3 is released.

Next, I will try to finish up mentats, and work on the idea of giving a discount for homeworld reinforcements when you are at war against terraformers.

It would be helpful to get feedback on which of the existing issues are most painful; please download the issue spreadsheet and vote. Of course, many painful issues are also hard to fix, but maybe there are some relatively easy ones left. Anyway, this voting will help us to focus on which are the most serious gameplay issues.

We had an active discussion for UU/UB and wonders a few weeks back, but they both stalled. Now would be a good time to focus on them.
 
are there any changes for CIV3LeaderHeadInfos.xml?
i mean can i install music pack if i made reinstallation from scratch (1.6 > 1.6.1 inceremental (i had it downloaded) > 1.6.3)?

Btw you didnt included new icon/linking that Deliverator made.
 
I've played 167 turns on 1.6.2.2 with no issue. The AI seems OK from what I can see, but I'm no expert. Shaddam has double my score and is about the annihilate me, but that could be me being rubbish.
