INES II: Gone is the Old Guard

And to emphasize that point, the NPC nations involved in the proposed treaty applaud Morocco's eagerness to get something worked out, but are somewhat angry they were not consulted before having their 'signatures' used.

Very well.

And again, Morocco had had misiterperated some things, and thought all members of Dal-Al-Islam had agreed. But a mistake is a mistake.

The treaty has been moved to the social group for ratification.

OOC: I.. er.. forgot about the NPC nations haha.

Shadowbound, I see you, and you're one of the players I don't have orders from.

OOC: There are other NESes, and I was waiting on some word from Iggy.

Imago, I hate to be a pain, but, do you think your going to be updating tonight, or are you leaning more towards tommorow? (its roughly 5:15 here)

Also, did you recieve my missionary orders?

:p

Unclear as of now. 7 pages of the update are already done, including almost all of the domestic stuff and one of the conflict areas, but the rest depends on when I get some key orders.

Also, did you recieve my missionary orders?

Yep.

Two more sets of orders in, including Shadowbound's, so I'm happy.

Alright, thanks a lot Imago.

Wait for me. I'll have orders in within a few minutes.

There's still some time. I'm slogging through the second major conflict right now, but I haven't reached the ASEAN yet. Eight pages of update done.

Political Organization of the Royal Republic of Iberia

Iberia is organised, as it was said before, in 23 Comunidades Autónomas, totalling 75 Provinces. Each suborganization of the Republic of Iberia has limited powers over certain matters that only concern them, such as healthcare or education, although the Iberian Government holds still power on these matters in order to encompass the efforts of the 23 Comunidades Autónomas.

This is a map of the Comunidades, and a description of each follows (boldened is the capital province):
iberiam.png

  • Alentejo: with the flag of the old Portuguese Republic, the region of Alentejo is home to several important ports of the Iberian Navy. Provincias: Évora, Lisboa, Portalegre, Santarém, Setúbal.
  • Algarve: in the south-west of Iberia, this region tends to be seen as a bit backward, although its capital is very forward and hosts one of the most modern football stadiums in the world. Provincias: Algarve
  • Andalucía: the last place where the Moors resided when they were in Iberia, Andalucía is home to many famous monuments from that time, as well as the typical olivares from where the best olive oil of the world is extracted from. Provincias: Almería, Cádiz, Córdoba, Granada, Huelva, Jaén, Málaga, Sevilla.
  • Aquitania: in the 1980's a French region, it was given by the French to the Iberians after the French-Iberian war of 1991 after the southern nation's victory. Its inhabitants are fiercely Iberian now, preferring this to the chaos of the Socialist Republic of France. Provincias: Dordoña, Gironda, Guyana, Landes, Lot y Garona
  • Aragón: formerly the cradle of the Kingdom of Aragon, some of its people talk an ancient language, derived from Occitan, called Aranés, mainly in the Vall d'Arán. Provinces: Huesca, Teruel, Zaragoza
  • Asturias: this is the place where the famed Reconquista started, after the troops of Don Pelayo managed to defeat a Moorish Army in the Battle of Covadonga. Provinces: Asturias (Oviedo)
  • Atlántico: this region is formed by the former Portuguese islands in the Atlantic Ocean, hence its name. Provinces: Azores, Madeira
  • Beira: this Comunidad Autónoma is famous for the many castles from the Middle Ages that helped protect this region against many invaders. Provincias: Aveiro, Castelo Branco, Coimbra, Guarda, Leiria, Viseu
  • Cantabria: being in the north of Iberia, this region hosts several beauties of nature and history, such as the Valle del Pas and the Altamira Caves. Provincias: Cantabria (Santander)
  • Castilla y León: once the heart of western Iberia resistance against the Moors, now the wheat fields are amongst the biggest of Europe, and its walls are very well conserved. Provincias: Ávila, Burgos, León, Palencia, Salamanca, Segovia, Soria, Valladolid, Zamora
  • Castilla La Mancha: this Comunidad is known everywhere for being the place where Alonso Quijano, the famous character of El Ingenioso Hidalgo Don Quijote de la Mancha, is born, lives, has his adventures (especially famous is the one with the windmills), and dies. Provincias: Albacete, Ciudad Real, Cuenca, Guadalajara, Toledo
  • Cataluña: this region is the second biggest economic heart of Iberia, behind Madrid, and has one of the most controversial cathedrals in the world, the still-under-construction Templo Expiatoria de la Sagrada Familia. Provincias: Barcelona, Gerona, Lérida, Tarragona
  • Comunidad de Madrid: hosting the capital of Iberia, this region is the economic and political heart of the nation. Provincias: Madrid
  • Comunidad Valenciana: this Comunidad, in which Catalan - called Valenciano here - is spoken, is very well known for its orange trees, the Paella Valenciana and the Fallas. Provincias: Alicante, Castellón, Valencia
  • Duero-Miño: named after the two rivers that cross it, its wines are a widely appreciated part of its culture. Provincias: Braga, Braganza, Oporto, Viana do Castelo, Vila Real
  • Extremadura: from here come several important people in the history of Iberia, namely the Conquistadores Hernán Cortés and Francisco Pizarro. Provincias: Badajoz (Mérida), Cáceres
  • Galicia: a humid region, full of trees and surrounded by cliffs where delicious crustaceans can be fished, its capital is on the famous place of peregrination of Santiago de Compostela, where the Camino de Santiago ends. Provinces: A Coruña (Santiago de Compostela), Lugo, Orense, Pontevedra
  • Islas Baleares: this one-province region, formed by the Spanish Mediterranean islands, has many wonderful beaches that host many people even in the middle of winter. Provinces: Baleares (Palma de Mallorca)
  • Islas Canarias: nicknamed Las Islas Afortunadas (the Fortunate Islands), it is said that here it is always spring thanks to its warm, subtropical climate. Bananas are widely grown in here. Provincias: Las Palmas, Santa Cruz de Tenerife
  • La Rioja: here lies the cradle of the Spanish language: the monasteries of Suso and Yuso in San Millán de la Cogolla, which also are near the birthplace of the first Spanish poet, Gonzalo de Berceo. Provincias: La Rioja (Logroño)
  • Navarra: being the last Kingdom to join Castile and Aragon into what would be known as Spain, its Estatuto de Autonomía (the Constitution of the Comunidad Autónoma) has several laws derived from the old Fueros of the Kingdom of Navarra. Provincias: Navarra (Pamplona)
  • Región de Murcia: next to Almería, the dryest region in Spain, it nonetheless hosts many important cultivations, amongst them the widely appreciated spice saffron. Provinces: Murcia
  • País Vasco: the only pre-Romanic language in all of Europe, the Euskera language, is spoken here (as well as in Navarra), having provided Spanish with several loan-words now widely used such as izquierda (Spanish for left). Provinces: Álava-Araba, Guipúzcoa-Gipuzkoa and Vizcaya-Bizkaia (Bilbao-Bilbo)

Imago, tell me when you're ready

Didn't do anything really interesting, don't worry, and I'd given warning that I'd be late, so hopefully it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Orders in. Need the signal from Imago to post my stories

Orders in. Apologies for lateness, accident in Oklahoma threw my scheduled computer time in chaos. (Home next week thank god.) :D

ninja-Imago, please tell me when it's safe to post

I just got yours and Iggy's, though I still don't have a couple important sets of orders. If push comes to shove I'll just do the update without them.

Update possible before Saturday, even though it's unlikely. Second major conflict area done.

EDIT: No idea when it will be safe to post, but I just got all the North American orders in, so you can probably go ahead with the stories.

I was sleeping off my hallucinations but I guess I can send orders now. Wait for it....Legend....wait for it....dary. Legendary.
