We should merge him with the Expansion minister! The CP shouldn't give production orders, it should be the Governors! The Expansion/CP will do the old jobs of the Expansion minister, and name new cities and provinces.

Thoughts?

Well....in the early game, the expansion leader is very important. As is the City Planner. However, as the game progresses governors take over the CP duties and the expansion leader becomes useless. (Nowhere else to expand.)

So merging the two at this point might be ok...but then it leaves an even number of cabinet members. Or if you give governors cabinet powers (which may come into play later) then the number will always flucate.

On second thought....merging Expansion and CP.
And then Trade and Science.
Would keep the cabinet balance, while summing positions up into more accurate groups.

What do YOU think?

No...not you. Him.
Behind you.
Look...just get out of the way.
Ok...now you.
Hey...are you deaf...I said YOU!!
Don't make me come over there.....
Oh..thats it.....
*ouch...ouch...* "let go of my ear man"
Ok...what do YOU think?

What the........?

Anyways I never saw what the trade dude was supposed to do in the first place. Ofcourse we come up with new names for these offices. I say the departments of Internal devolop,emt(cp/expand) and research and oh i dunno one that one.

A bold plan! We could call the Cp/expansion Interior Dev., and the latter could be called, uh, errrm. Hehem. We need more consultation on that. But this Idea is GRAND!

Here is my final copy- BTW who makes these decisions??? Hopefully they will agree

- Merging of City Planner and Expansion Minister, to form Secratery of Internal affairs

- Governors now very inportant, they now completley control city production

- Merging of Trade and Diplomacy Ministers, to form Foreign Minister

The "Final Solution"

Where is this poll?

Your poll? Which is unoffical? We passed a rule stating that citizens could not propose rule changes. Only general info polls. Once the discussion is over, then a clear poll is held. And that's what I'm doing now. You must ask a cabinet member, or MOD Liaison to post the offical poll for you.

It's nicknamed the Pellaken rule. ;)

Plus this topic deals with a different topic then you poll. Your is about administering the game, the new poll is about merging cabinet positions.

We did? Well then, I'll go post a poll to change it. ;) But seriously, I went back and looked for this, and found where you stated the change (unilaterally) in one of Pellaken's threads, which is probably the worst place to post something as far as readership goes. Maybe in the future you could put such rule changes in the Announcements so more people find out about them.

Well, the changes that I proposed in that discussion thread and then put up for vote included two of the three that are proposed in this thread: Giving the governors absolute control of their cities by giving them the saved game, and merging the City Planner and Expansion Minister positions. Also, Pellaken suggested in his Government Reform thread that we should give the saved game to the governors to run their cities. It just makes me wonder how many people even paied attention to the proposals I made when two separate people post threads with the exact same proposals a few days after mine.

And about making an official poll, were you going to mention anything to me about that? I said in the discussion thread that I would post a poll on it, and then several days later I posted the poll which has now been up for a week, and you never said anything in them that I was going about it the wrong way. It would have been helpful to find out about this a bit earlier. Anyway, it seems the only thing that remains from that poll that has not been taken and put in another poll is the part about sending the saved game to the governors and Expansion Minister for them to post screenshots and polls, so could you start a poll on that?

I'm sorry, ok. I'm a busy man. I can't do EVERYTHING.
I try...but I have a job, actually 3 jobs, and I'm going to collage....so give me a break.

I can post a poll about the saved games. I'll do that now. I also re-wrote the Constutition yesterday...I'll upload that when I get home. (After I edit the recorded Enterprise Episode (Assuming it worked this week  ))

When AoA sends me the saved game I'll have a new map(s), and I'll update the citizen list when I update the Government List (after the election).

Your right about your Pellaken comment though. :) That's probably not the best place to post changes....but now you know. It's not my responsibility to make everyone throughly read the rules thread when ever I make a change. (whether voted or omitted)

So...to recap. I'll post that poll for you. (However I'm against sharing the saved game), and I'll do other stuff too...I'm so tired.
