Welcome back, civvers! I have returned!

Sorry for the delay. I haven't had the greatest motivation to do this lately in the face of me trying out a new game somewhat along the lines of this one (Lost Empire, in case you were wondering), but I'm back and ready to roll!

Last time we were here, I made peace with the Mongols, World War returns to Earth, and Greece declares its independence from the Ottomans! :D (Getting the former Ottoman capital as a bonus) And now onto today's (or tonight's, for me :p) update!

To start off, we get a few new updates on the diplomatic front: Greece, seeking protection from the Ottoman Empire (who no doubt wants their capital back), decides to accept an offer from the powerful Portuguese Empire to become its vassal. Also, France agrees to a peace treaty with the Viking Union, with unknown terms.

Meanwhile, Russia finally puts an end to the question of who should be the true successor to the Roman Empire, as the Third Rome has captured the First Rome:

Lucky Russia. Just about everyone in Europe seems to be going after Rome here, but Russia simply got to it first.

Meanwhile, Greece may not be keeping the Ottoman capital for very long:

Ouch. 99% Turkish. With only two defenders to suppress potential revolts, that equates to a roughly 7% chance each turn to revolt. Let's hope the soldiers in Istanbul have riot gear!

Also, the Americans begin their expansion into the Great Plains by settling Kansas City (Missouri? :crazyeye:):

Turn 320: Well, so much for the issue of Rome being settled!

So, does this mean that Spain and Russia are at war? Well, the answer is...

Oh, not this again! The same odd city exchange that occurred with Berlin is happening with Rome, too. Why isn't Russia keeping any of these cities?

Turn 321: More political news: the Vikings continue to go down the path of peace, making peace with England like they did with France.

Uh oh...

Oh, that's not good. The last thing I want is for Mongolia to gobble up even more of China!

In more peaceful news, the Americans again settle, this time Sioux Falls near British Canada:

Turn 322: What are the British doing here?

 They were in Central America a turn ago. Are they trying to block America's expansion somehow?

And on that rather odd note, this update shall come to an end. One thing before I go, though. With Xi'an doomed to fall any turn now (the Mongols are besieging it as we speak), that will leave Nanchang as the only independent city left in China. I just checked Nanchang (sorry for using debug mode in this cheaty way), and with one of its defenders having just left to go take care of some pesky French soldiers near my border (:crazyeye:), Nanchang only has one defender at the moment. Should I capture it now, before the Mongols get a chance to? My stability is currently at solid, so I should be able to handle it. What do you think?

Either way, that's it for this update. Hope you enjoyed it, and stay tuned!

maybe russia is giving its cities away for lulz :crazyeye:

The Greatest Story Ever Told is on again! Yay! :woohoo:

Normally I'd say do not interfere with the development of the game but since Mongolia is already pretty huge and that there are so many native cities for them to conquer in former India, I think you'd be safer taking Nanchang.

I'd advise against taking Nanchang. Your forces will be spread too thin, leaving your other cities vulnerable to attack. And even if it is something like a longbow, you never know how much the RNG can mess you up. Of course, it is up to you in the end.

You have a point about stretching my forces too thin, although I can always whip more (slavery was a lifesaver in my war with Mongolia, which in itself is ironic . I may still win the Historical Victory because of it). The main things that make me want to capture it is that if the Mongols capture it, they'll be able to attack any of my mainland cities from any direction, and I won't know where to have my troops. Also, I will be getting the Assembly Line tech in less than 10 turns, and with 5000+ gold, I will be able to upgrade all of my riflemen to infantry easily. Maybe I should wait to attack until I have all infantry?

Welcome back, civvers!

Last time, the Russians captured Rome (and gave it to Spain ), the Americans began to settle the Great Plains, the Mongols moved on ex-Chinese Xi'an, and I comtemplated going after Nanchang. I have decided to move on Nanchang after all.

We start on the turn we ended on last time, as I am going to move on Nanchang now, before it can defend itself any better. First off, we use one of my two soldiers in Fuzhou to take care of the crossbowman on my territory:

Actually, scratch that. This update is on hold, as my free trial on Imageshack ran out. When did they start making it a pay-to-use service? I've been using it for over a year now!

I'll just let you know the rest of the turn. I move two riflemen and a cannon to the edge of Nanchang, and will launch my attack when I can actually update.

Anyone know another free image sharing website? This update is on hold until I find a new one, as I am not paying $2 a month just to upload some pics.

photobucket is free :3

Yeah, I just ditched Imageshack for Imgur when my trial ran out.

In Imgur, the images should be viewed at least once every 6 months. Otherwise, it will be deleted and the URL can be reused by future uploaders.

I left Imageshack as soon as they announced a limit to the number of pictures you can upload at an account.
