Hey readers! Sorry, this isn't an update, but I'm here to tell you that I should have an update up by the weekend. Obviously, college is a lot to take in, but I'm getting adjusted pretty quickly. I would have started an update now, but my first essay's due tomorrow, so I've got to get on it. Welcome back, civvers!

I have returned! After an eventful first week of college, it's time to go back to what I do best - amusing you all with tales of stupid A.I.!

When we last left off, China collapsed, the Turks had some problems in Egypt, and the Aztecs lost their capital to Portuguese conquistadors. And now, on to today's action!

We start off with a bang, as the Persians have declared war on the Arabs. Not only that, but they've proven themselves on the battlefield for the first time since capturing Samarkand by capturing Dur Untash, now renamed Chogha Zanbil?

Well, whatever, if that's what you want to name it, Persia! At least they finally captured a city.

Turn 262: Well, whaddya know?

I told you all this might have happened! Since I asked, and the only answer (from christos200) was to keep it, that's exactly what I'm doing!

Also for this turn, we've got a few new border changes. The Russians have founded the port town of Arkhangelsk high in the Russian north:

Also, the Arabs, trying to replace Dur Untash, have founded Masqat in modern-day Oman:

I know it's out of the way, but is it really a good idea to allow a city to be undefended just when your next door neighbor is doing well militarily for the first time?

I don't care if that's 9000 gold, I am not giving Mongolia guns, especially since I'm playing as Japan.

Nothing happened here other than that.

Turn 264: Game crashed. Whatever, now that that's out of my system, I'm going to end this update here. Sorry it's so short, but my game crashed on me half a dozen times just getting to this point, and it's getting to the point where I can't take it anymore right now. As it turns out, no. I prefer to play the game while I'm making the story because, while it does cause me to run in to these kinds of problems, it also keeps the story fresher in my opinion.

Hello again, civvers!

I am back, for now! And not only that, but I am ready to finally put out another update. Note that this update will be divided into 2 short updates, with the second part of it coming out either later today or tomorrow. Enjoy!

I start out (on turn 265, for those who have forgotten) by meeting Joao of Portugal for the first time. Sorry, guy, but no open borders for you. Remember, it was the Dutch who were allowed to stay (near) Nagasaki, not the Portuguese!

I also meet the Vikings.

On to the world, we see... nothing. The Persians are still holding Chogha Zanbil, and the Arabs have done nothing to stop them. Nothing else has really happened.

Turn 266: I meet Isabella of Spain:

Meanwhile, the Portuguese continue to strike at the Aztecs, taking Coyuca:

Turn 267: Nothing.

Turn 268: Interesting times for the Portuguese. Until now, Portugal has been a vassal of the Vikings. However, in one turn, they went from being a vassal to a master, renouncing the protection of the Vikings and becoming the master of the defeated Aztecs (who are down to their last city) in the same turn. No one has reached the Inca yet, so they are still alive and kicking, despite some barb trouble near Caqonatambu.

Turn 269: As you can see here, the British and French have finally decided to start settling the Americas. The British have struck first, founding Fort Albany on the northern coast of Lake Michigan. Meanwhile, the British and French have both begun to pour settlers into the region:
