Welcome back, civvers!
Man, am I glad to be back! After two weeks of absence, I have returned! But enough with me, let's get on with it!
Last time, we were witness to a series of epic fails by the A.I., as the barbarians waited to take an undefended city, (for 3 years, mind you), the American's attempt to take Canada ended with the British wiping out half of America's army, and the Holy Roman Empire collapsed after years of war with the rest of Europe. What will happen today? Stick around to find out!
We start on turn 311, where Victoria of England (who was a friend until a few turns ago) demands access to coal from me:
I tell her to get out of my face, and she leaves empty-handed. P.S.:I don't think we're friends anymore.
Nothing happens with Japan, so we move on to the international stage, traveling to Southern Africa, where we find:
The Ottomans continue their rampage across the world, razing Quelimane. Meanwhile, another Ottoman army continues to rampage across Persia, and is about to capture Tureng Tepe. With so many cities, control over Persia, Ethiopia, and even Mombasa, and having captured Istanbul and made it capital upon Rome's collapse, it makes me wonder how close to collapse they are. The Turks haven't shown any signs of trouble, though, just unending conquest.
As for Europe, the Russians do something unexpected:
So they have captured Dutch Berlin, huh. That means the Dutch and Russians are at war over central Europe, right? Well...
...Or not. It seems that, despite the fall of Germany, the world war is back on, with even the Ottomans joining in. Strangely though, even though Berlin is under Russian occupation, the Russians and Dutch are not only not at war, they are still friends. What is going on here?
As for North America, the Portuguese take Tuitan from the Independent-Aztecs. Now, only Teotihuacan remains outside of Portuguese control, and it is controlled by natives.
Turn 312: Another turn, another three war requests to turn down and rage at (not necessarily in that order

):
Another turn, another formerly Persian city captured by the Turks:
Another turn, another colony founded by the Portuguese:
The Americans found their first city (other than Washington), settling Indianapolis, just west of the Appalachian Mountains:
As you can see, apparently Blackbeard is up to his old games again off of the USA's coastline.
Turn 313: Remember when I said that the Turks had shown no signs of instability yet? Well, how about this for a sign:
Oh, man!

That's right, folks. The Turks just lost their
capital to instability. Now, if that's not a sign, I don't know what is. I didn't know it was possible to lose your capital to instability without collapsing completely, but here you go. The exiled Caliph and his Pashas are now based in Babil, the former capital of Babylon, who was conquered by the Ottomans. Irony in action right here!
To end this update, we take one last look at Portugal, who has finally settled Ponta Delgada in the Azores.
Funny, usually Ponta Delgada is their second or third city. In this one, however, it is their 12th.
And that will end it for this update. Next time, we'll see what is going on with the World War, how the Ottomans will deal with their capital being under the control of rebels, and whether the Mongols will ever consider peace with Japan (they did absolutely nothing in this update). Until next time, stay tuned!
