Intersite BtS PitBoss

We wouldnt have to stop every few weeks if people played by the rules and did not commit such blatant DM's.

before you throw stones....your team DM'd me prior to this. I dint raise hell because I did not see any "aggressive" move. FR and sonny both did a Dm early in the war...chariots dont move 3 tiles in one turn nor do they move 2 tiles through forest. AGAIN...it didnt matter because all I was doing was pressing enter. BOTH of these instances were during civstats outages.

IF we are going to have a rule it needs to be clearly defined. There seems to be multiple definitions of what a DM is.

I agree that the fair reload would be at the noted turn rollover and allow Sonny to go before BCLG100 as he had when BCLG troops came close enough to be visible and to continue to go first in the turn until such a time as the battle between BCLG100 and Sonny is resolved.

Thats not the rule..the rule is after 9 hours have passed(I rather 12 hours) its free for the opponent to DM by playing their turn whether the opposing civ played or not.

post 9...
POINTS OF INTEREST:
I think the best rule for this is that double moves in wartime are disallowed; and a 9 hour window for defense against the double move following notification should be used. CivStats does not work with BtS, so monitoring to see a double move is not possible except for the host. OverLoad is expected to come up with CivStats for BtS but there is no deadline for this.

Therefore...if Sonny doesn't play in the first 9 hours of the turn...BC can play regardless if its a Dm or not. Whiplash is that correct. We need this point confirmed

I would like to go on record as being against double moves on the first half of the timer.

I also am going on record as being against double moves on the first half of the timer. And as I have a good feeling both CB & Spike will probably agree, it may as well be counted as the STG vote.

Now whether it's 9 hours or 12 hours, doesn't really matter to me. I just feel there needs to be sufficient time for an opponent to log in such that a DM wouldn't occur before a player is "forced" to have to make a DM. I also would hope we could trust each other enough that someone wouldn't simply log in after the 9(12) hours and do a DM if they know that they would be able to do so a few hours later, and hence giving the opponent more time to get their a$$ into the game to play their turn in sequence. And even in many of those cases, you still should be able to avoid a DM by having one of your teammates log in for you if you know you won't be able to log in before the end of the turn with your opponent having still not played theirs.

as i said before if i wanted someone else to play my turns i wouldnt have joined...therefore i wont ask my teammate to play later on if i am within the rules to play.

I have sent this e-mail to sonny:

Please check the Intersite thread on civfanatics to understand the current status of the game.

HIGHLIGHTS:

I will load the save for the rollover to 650BC at about 7:00 AM (GMT-6) tomorrow. That's 7 o'clock in the morning in the US Central Time Zone. This is intended for you to have the opportunity to avoid the double move that occured in the prior round. Under the current rule, BCLG and his teammates will not play their turns until after you do, provided you play your turn within 9 hours of the time of the reload. If you do not play your turn within 9 hours of the reload BCLG and/or any of his teammates are free to play the turn.

It would be helpful if you were to share your game password with your teammates so that they could play your turn for you if necessary.

whiplash

I also expect that none of sonny's teammates will make a double move.

Ah, right. He said GMT-6 and not GMT-5. I was just joking around cuz I actually woke up earlier than I expected, anyway. Now to go back to bed since I have the day off from work.

EDIT: well after I play my turn that is, now that he put it up as I was typing this. :D

Is there anyway we can get civstats working properly? i logged in and moved my boats beforei even realised sonny hadn't been.

I dont think the game will need to come down as i only moved them one or two paces and i didnt land any troops so there would be little sonny could do to stop me there.

I doubt civstats will be fixed until tonight when whiplash gets home again.

In the meantime Sonny (or anyone else) will need to post here as soon as Sonny has played his turn so BCLG knows that he can log in to do so as well.

Civstats is doing some odd things. Maybe it's acting quirky due to the reload.

Anyway it shows sonny finishing his turn 2 minutes ago and I can confirm that in the pitboss screen.

well whatever is going on, civstats is still wonky as everytime someone logs in it shows a couple dozen Finished Turn notifications.

Did you try rebooting your computer at any point? Maybe do a manual save, reboot, and load everything up again.

I expect civstats to be ok next turn. Right now it is showing who has completed the turn properly.

all of this for a worse tactical position for Sonny....what a waste of 48 hours. Now instead of a city with troops in it the city is empty......

WOW. I never seen such a defense before...I am dumb founded. As to why we had to replay this turn. The only difference is BCs units which you cant hurt are on a plains and your city is empty instead of a unit. Brilliant tactics...wow no wonder you guys couldnt kill me 2 vs 1.

Civstats shows everyone completing the turn for 650 but in actuallity Kingpin, Spike, and TestofTime have yet to play the turn. The clock is correct at 10 hours.

Hopefully civstats will straighten around on the next turn.

This is going to make a DM rule hard to watch. No one can tell who played and now its going to be peoples word against each other. Without civstats you cant not possibly KNOW when a DM occured?

player x..."He played before me and DM 'd me"
Player Y... " nope played after 9 hours passed"
Player x..." no you didnt it was 8 hours"

You need to get this fixed. Perhaps restart the game and civstats.
