Introducing CivFanatics v3.0

It should be fixed. I think we found the source of the problem and the fix should help.

Thanks.

It is working fine right now. :D

I think it is best to say if certain things have been added from previous version, like how the wonders in BTS came in so that people can have an idea which ones they are needing to be looking at for the previous versions rather then the latest installment of the game. i think that will help with navigation.

If I understand this new system correctly, it's possible for say a team in the multi-team demogame to somehow start their own page on the front page and work together to keep it updated?

Minor problem , i think, when i go to the main page and then go to Civ4 downloads on the left column it take you to a second page that has in the center part "Civ4 Downloads:"
all well and good, but if you try and enter any of the listed sections there< Civ4/Downloads/Civilizations/map/modpacks etc, its not civ4 stuff? The only way to get into civ4 stuff then is to ENTER CIV4 -CREATION .... area? Is this an added page? for?
Just wondering.

Thanks. Good point. The CMS has a tagging feature that lets you tag an article with relevant keywords. I have cleaned up the tags for that article.

My first post here.

I just discovered this site a few days ago, just before the change, I suppose, and I visited the War Academy, which let me make beautiful printouts from my office printer. With the change, the print preview is no longer as cute as it was before, so I use the old site for this, for now. Are there plans to make printouts as good-looking as before? Does this post make sense?

May a do a minor suggestion? Now that the main site and the forums are more integrated, would it be possible to make more and more accessible links to the front page on each forum page?

Right now the only way to go back to the main page from the forum is to open the "General" menu all the way at the top of the page, (which isn't in a particularly big font size either) It would be nice if such an important link is more accessible from al non-front pages on a website

For example:
# Make the link to the main page the "root" of the fake directory tree at the top and bottom of each forum page.
So, instead of
Civilization Fanatics' Forums > CIVFANATICS > News Updates > Introducing CivFanatics v3.0
make it:
Home Page > Civilization Fanatics' Forums > CIVFANATICS > News Updates > Introducing CivFanatics v3.0

# Make the big CivFanatics logo a link to the main page, instead of the main forum page.

Doesn't the 'Home' link (next to 'My Account') do this? Or am I misunderstanding you?

No, you are right, I missed that one.

And I see there is a link to the main page somewhere on the bottom of each page too now...

But I remember I wasn't able to find any handy link a while back, when I was making a new quick-post and needed a page from the main site for some info and had to scroll a lot to find a link.

Is this a recent change? Or am I just that blind?

The 'create your own content' looks interesting. I've been thinking that the BUG mod should have a little blurb outside of its forum about various stuff, screenies, etc. However, there is not category that I should hang it off. Can you guys add a category ... say ... "Civ4 - Mod Packs"?

Okay, here we go...

There are still the Civ4/Warlords/Beyond the Sword individual Info Centers, as opposed to the Civilopedia which tries to compile them all together. So, if you want to look at them game-by-game, I would suggest the info centers in order to discern the additions of each expansion.

See the answer below (last question). If you want, I can create a page for the Multi-Team Demogame (or normal demogame) from which you guys can create subpages...it wouldn't be private though, I don't think. This is all still new to me...

I think the Civ2 scenario hall of fame died with the upgrade.

Because those pages were extensive and didn't fit the style of the old CFC layout, we didn't add them right away. That's on our long-term to do list...

Oooh, you can be my guinea pig! :) Right now, we have a Downloads page which has little else other than a link to the C&C forums and the Downloads Database. Hopefully, people will be willing to add as child pages various additional info. For now, do you want to try and click the "Add child page" link and try to create a BUG subpage? You can use vB code just like on the forums, and I want to see how it all works for normal members. If you want, give it a try (it won't appear right away since I have to approve it) and that would be very helpful! Over time, we can create various sections if there get to be too many pages.

Well, I almost followed instructions. I selected 'add content' and then 'page' and used 'download' in dropdown for parent then added the most exciting content I could think of ("test"). It seems you approved it as I can see it - or is that just because I created it?

Yeah, the method you used was fine. It's essentially the same thing. And yes, I approved it, which is why it happened so far. One nitpick: when you "tag" it, use commas, not semicolons. I fixed it for you.
