The good tech trades this time around may come at almost no expense to us, as writing has opened up a bonaza of communication trade deals.

Code:
[b]We want... We offer...
India
Deal #1-------------------------------[/b]
Mysticism Contact w/ Russia
57g

[b]Babylon
Deal #2-------------------------------[/b]
The Wheel Contact w/ Russia
36g

[b]Russia
Deal #3-------------------------------[/b]
35g Contact w/India
The Wheel Contact w/Babylon
Mysticism

[b]Deal #4-------------------------------[/b]
The Wheel [i]OR[/i] Mysticism	Contact w/India
Contact w/Germany	Contact w/Babylon

Since I don't believe contact with Germany is needed at the moment, I advise taking deals 1 & 2. Everyone will meet one another eventually, so I recommend the first two deals to get our max possible gold and techs.

So, what say ye, citizens of Fanatica?

Like the idea of #1 and #2. Contact with Germany is intriguing, but we might find them if we keep pushing the warrior south.

Assuming these get approved, you might want to post them as ... for TECH and maximum gold available, just in case the value changes after the first trade.

i like deal 3 best. 1 and 2 are a little small, if we are offering contacts, no point just offering one, the other civ might get to trade with it and get it off them instead of us.

we don't need contact with germany just yet, might get it cheaper later; or might even find them ourselves.

No Will, that is incorrect. If we trade on our turn, we get to do the trading and not AI with other AI.

Simply put: #1 and #2. we gain Myst + The Wheel + 93 gold + better relations with Inida and better relations with Babylon.

#3: We gain 58 gold less and better relations with only 1 civ.

#1 and #2 are the way to go. Very soon the Russians have met the Babylonians and then #2 is gone.

I also like deals #1 and #2. They will make contact eventually anyway, so lets get some techs out of it.

It is too late now, but one thing we could have considered was a special turn chat session to buy contact with Germany and then discussed our trading alternatives. Something to keep in mind for the future.

Just a glance at this thread shows me that none of these trades require any cash requisitions for the next turn chat. If there ARE any cash requisitions, please post your discussion in the Term 2 Senate thread.

TerminalMan:

You'll notice that I do not propose spending any gold this time around. And, from previous experience, I am very familiar with the Senatorial process.

Thank you for the reminder. :)

Good choice.

11th hour reminder to Oct:

Keep in mind that Contact with Russia may be devalued after the first trade(preferably to India). I think that any trade that gets us the Wheel from Babylon should be accepted, even if we have to dip into our own reserves(unlikely but possible).

I think that this provision should be noted in the chat instructions to save us future headaches. :)

Yes, I noticed that error in the turn chat thread. It was my mistake - next time, rather than specifying gold, I'll instructed that the amount may be lowered as necessary to get the AI to accept.
