Yes.

Anyways, what about a medieval game? We booted a reformation game, but I'd love to do one in the middle ages. Perhaps it can start in the magical year of 600? Or 1066? You guys decide.

Also, what about my constitution idea, where someone drafts up an article describing the rights, responsibilities, and privileges of both the mod and the players.

The "constitution" you speak of is sorta like the Etiquette. We can incorporate some rights and stuff into the list appropriate behavior.

good idea. if you dont mind Byzantium being a superpower.

Of course I truely meant 1204. That is the best date we can start on.

:joke:

On a serious note, I'll actually buy Byzantium being a world power in the medieval game. Of course, by "World Power", I so obviously mean Europe and the Middle East, definitely not Asia or Africa. I'm thinking being ENGLAND!! in that game, given the circumstances, just to do Monty Python jokes galore, but I wouldn't mind being Venice again, either.

how about we start in 4000 BC (with modern countries as a guideline) and start from there? it would be fun.

(you can start anywhere you want, obviously)

I agree with Tailless, Omega andMathalamus (now, there's a first). Complex battles may slow down the thread, but it should be something to keep in mind. I would also support a mediaeval or ancient IOT instead.

If we go medieval, let's do it during the Norman invasion of England.

I don't think the Middle Ages would be a good idea. After all, historical combat is what Civ is for, and I always think of IOT as a modern game.

If we go medieval, I don't' think we should go with historical states.

perhaps we could go somewhere in the middle and create a spin off game called "IOT:Gettin Midevil On Ya" which would have prefabricated states from the period and the plague.:)

Sorry Lighthearter, it seems as though it's an overwhelming no to your idea.

Anyways though, I'm still rather confused. What should we do now? I only planned up to the voting stage, and didn't really think any farther than that...

Well, now that you know what the rules are in general, you can debate specifics. What is the etiquette? How are armies calculated? What will the new map look like? And so forth.

1. Do not flame, troll, or personally insult any other player OOC or IC. At all. You may comment on certain things negatively, but don't take it further than that.
2. Stay on topic. Make sure all comments are relevant to the fictional world of the current IOT and have nothing to do with your personal religious/political beliefs.
3. No powergaming. By definition, powergaming is making your country surpass every other country by all terms including armed forces, technology, etc. There was a problem with this in IOT I, but other than that I'm not sure there's been a problem with that.
4. Keep your actions realistic, and don't declare war on someone for a personal reason.
I agree with all of those too.
