IOT Developmental Thread

I wanted to aim for a more serious, realistic, anthropomorphic character to represent the darker, more complex side of IOT. Something more cartoony and lighthearted will represent the other side. :p

Our mascot should be a walnut with a raised riding crop floating over the equator in the left hemisphere (from its perspective) and a green US Army general's helmet. There would be explosions in the background and its name would obviously be Squeaky Warnut.

I support this.

Is there an IOT that uses national currency? It would be more realistic, but perhaps more difficcult to manage.

Sonereal's Fiat Homo reboot will feature national currency.

Multipolarity had national currency

I'm pretty sure that was for show more than anything.

Yep, it didn't count for a thing.

not completely true.... it had some connection with... recessions I believe

Yeah, true, if recession hit a country, countries with the same currency had more chances to spread it, or it was spread to them.

At the Paradoxplaza forum, WiR 1836 had currency with exchange rates, pritning rates and inflation.

But then again, the GM was an economist.

Just started an earth-based space colonization game, almost completely, if not entirely, RP-based. Check it out here.

@TK

If you make a new IB map, I have only one suggestion. More sea provinces!

This is the map (50% normal size)

Eighty provinces. Might consider increasing to a hundred.

There will be a world-building thread going up sometime in the next week, where people can choose what country to play as and all that.

Wow, I have decided to postpone JIoT to the second half of January due to the already crowded offer of IOTs, personal issues and fear that due to the simple and fast nature of the game, Christmas vacation may kill it, foreseeing my own inability to connect for perhaps a week during said period.

It is indeed a good map. Although I personally prefer a bit more contrast between land and sea, but the map is awesome.

By all means, increase the number of territories. And maybe use actual 19th century borders, too (I'm looking at you, Prussia, Tyrol and Pakistan).
