IOT Developmental Thread

It wouldn't work that way though, there would be a formula determining how many troops you have.

Not sure what, but it'd base on population somehow or something.

@Ilduce- Its not even a war game, its a game about history, I'm against it too, but it may be the only way.

Yeah, I was just trying to keep it simple for the sake of example. However, we would probably do something more complex such as:

3*(Military points)+2*(Provinces/Population Points)+(Economy points)

EDIT: RNG > Coin flip > Civ > Everything else, and edited equation

Yeah, I was just trying to keep it simple for the sake of example. However, we would probably do something more complex such as:

Military points * # of Provinces / [some number to keep people from putting all of their points in into military and then declaring war on everyone]

I don't entirely get what you are saying, but If you do two things your problem is solved.

You can put points into Military, Peaceful Expansion, Economy, Or Stability. The first three are self-explanatory, Stability counters collapse when you make unstable decisions.

Casus Beli System, one of the ways you can lose stability is DOWing without one.

I don't think stability is needed. Declare war without a reason, and others will declare war on you. Happened to numerous people in IOT2, and from what Cull's describing, happened in IOT4 as well.

Oh god, I have to stop ignoring this thread

Anyways, once again, please try to keep the spam to a minimum. So no more discussion of games outside of this game, since we're most likely not going to use them, as not everyone owns them.

Well, this is... interesting.

So, uh... you guys fine with Imperium Offtopicum V: The Renaissance? I think it's a rather fitting title, considering what we set out to do. :)

Blech, I don't like it, but, this is the community developed version, so I guess I'll have to accept it.

Actually, I've got a rather fun idea for my country if we go with this Renaissance thing :mwaha:

Joecoolyo, you started this thing, it is your decision and yours alone.

He started the thread but I started this particular poll, but let's see what he says.

Well, this is the community developed version, not mine (I'm merely shepherding it). And plus it was Tailless' vote, so it's his decision to keep Mad Man's vote or not.

Wait, I just gave myself an idea.

Let's use Age of Kings!

Did you guys just skip over my post or what?

Age of Mythology and Age of Kings (aka Age of Empires II). Two of the most awesome games in the history of awesome.

We could always use the map from EU III. That's just the right time-frame after all.

But AoM would be for classical start and AoK would be for medieval. Where doing Renaissance.

AoM wouldn't be very realistic for a classical start... and the 4th age up in AoK could be the droids we're looking for. It has gunpowder to some extent.

I think our best bet is late game battles with M2 modded with SS6.1. Then it's just a 15 minute battle, no economy to put up with.

Gah... this is my final warning. Anyone else discussing games for their combat purposes will not be allowed to join the next game. I have to put my foot down to stop all this spam.

Right now we are waiting on Tailless' decision on what to do with Mad Man's vote, then we will move onto discussion over the map.

Dang I'm definitely not joining this IoT..
Renaissance IMHO ruins the concept of it.. Well I'll be lurking now..

I think we only got Renaissance in because we were trying to give the least points as possible to either modern or medieval.
