What do y'all think of this map?

Why does it take longer to get from Spain to Egypt than it does to get from Spain to Florida? The Med is super small, and a lot calmer than the middle of the ocean.

No one's claiming anything before thread starts. Joecoolyo, can you make this kind of post bannable?

Same to you, Mr. Byzantium.

Also, Joecoolyo, please say no.

I thought Zelet's post was more of a joke, but anyways:

THERE WILL BE NO MORE CLAIMS FROM HERE ON

This isn't the thread to do it in, and it will result in an insta-ban.

As for Math, didn't we already vote no to switching countries?

My only gripe with the map is the fact that two provinces in Saudi Arabia are equal in size to 30 provinces in Germany.

But then again, only so much can be done to fix that problem.

So, I think it's good :goodjob:

I vote nay. NPCs are kind of like the new city states in Civ 5, they give a whole new way to play the game, either by making friends or conquering them. I think that instead of cutting them, expand them to be dynamic and make them more human.

Except for the fact that this game is text based, and there are no artificial intelligence systems in place, unlike Civ5. Which means either the NPC's will be controlled by the GM, which just gives him needless busywork (and possible bias), or they'll just sit there doing absolutely nothing, taking up space on the map.

Also Why don't people like my idea? This game is obviously going to be colonization centered, and IMO its more fun (and historical) if Civs In the Americas are more limited until the Europeans arrive.
And WIM why not just play as Portugal and colonize what Portugal really colonized? It's a simple solution to your problem.

Because no one will start in America, because if they do they'll get raped as soon as Europeans start colonizing.

Well Yeah I guess. But I was just trying to make it more like this period actually was. Colonization and all that Jazz.

You guys wanted it to start later in history oh so badly, so I don't see what's wrong with making it somewhat realistic to that period of history. It makes no sense to have people randomly discover America before the 1400's, especially after whatever happened to destroy all existing countries. I think that if you had wanted the New and Old world to equal, we should have started at a time when they were equal.

But the tech level, religious wars e.t.c. will be fun!

Also, I want to make the Oranj Federation from IOT II, but with Portugal/Brazil instead of The Netherlands/S. Africa.

Maybe if you colonize, the random disaster thing Tanicius put in could be an Indian attack.

Uh, calm down already?

The Asians civs where just as technologically advanced and more populas then the Europeans at the time.
I think:
Easier for Europe and Asian civs
No chance to Middle East civs (That includes Turkey)
Harder for African and American civs
For the map: I think it has to many territories in Europe and not enough everywhere else if we will use that scale. I like the other map better. (Not the original the second one)
I vote no to bonus resources as it make the game complex.
Also, as many people have been kicked out of this game, was I one of them?
