IOT: Land Ho!

CLAIMS:I spend all my ep on armies and invade as much of burgundy as I can, starting with the coastal provinces.

I don't think we ever got a concrete ruling on this, can we pr can't we colonize wile at war? Also I crush the rebels and send whats left to fight Burgundy's Coastal provinces.

Change of plans, I spend all my ep on armies and I'll post my battle orders elsewhere.

That's the spirit! No all you need to do is sing "I love Satan, Satan loves me!" a few times and you'll be eligible for an official induction into the Church of Satan!

Will they keep to themselves and, on defense, only 5 armies will be in a province?

Yes, no rebels will seek to expand before achieving full nation status.

Indeed.

ANDORRAS NATURAL PASTIMES ARE NOW SODOMY AND DEVIL WORSHIPPING. HAIL SATAN.

Did the Pope have religious rebels? If no, why not?

Not this turn. Keep in mind his Muslim provinces have a 40% chance plus the base chance EVERY TURN, so it's only a matter of time.

In fact several nations lucked out on rebellions, including the Scandinavian and Baltic nations, Poland-Lithuania, Hungary and Meroe.

I made the rebellion chance for humans higher for the fun element.

Yes you can colonize while at war.

A few notes on sea provinces: They only reject how far you can transport units via ships and max colonizing range.

"Intolerant- Different religion provinces have an extra ten percentage points chance of rebelling"

So North Africa and the Baleric Islands are 100% Catholic. That's nice to know.

Luck.

That didn't mess you up, it messed the HRE up. We'd have DoW'd you in a few turns even if we stayed Catholic.

Well the RNG kinda screwed him in the Levant wars, that's why he lost so much there. And because his troops were decimated there he was unable to defend Iberia. Cascade effect, hence the Pope's currently bad situation.

IC: HRE leaves church of Catholicism. By signing a pact with the Orthodox east, we find the Pope has strayed.

All Orthodox NPC's leave this ******** conglomeration of Catholicism and Orthodoxy. The Patriarch of Moscow has declared Moscow the Third Rome and the true head of Christianity.

Moscow has betrayed rome. There is only one roman emperor and that is me.

Good to know, I suppose I'd need to send an expedition before I can start carving up the new world.

We urge the HRE to make amends with Saxony, Burgundy, Switzerland, and Milan, and welcome them into the Protestant church.

We also suggest Milan and Burgundy accept Protestantism to better consolidate their power, but won't hold it against them if they do not do so.

Germans, please return to the pope!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

France, you don't have to worry about the New World. Cause your navy will be dead before it gets there.

Why would you launch an unprovoked attack on France?
-Papal Messenger

OOC: I checked your post. You rescinded you DOW on the Netherlands. Ergo, France’s alliance with them does not come into effect, & you & France are no longer at War.

but i made this pretty picture and everything!

i have no idea where the orders went, i have them in my sent box.
I understand that updating the map is to much work but would you consider giving me the armies i ordered (60)?

gm???

OOC: It is amazing how one decision can change the course of history. For example, the Pope's decision to proclaim a Turk the Emperor led to the creation of a new church (and I believe it is quite likely that a 2nd will come soon). This has royally messed up the European scene, with religious wars likely to break out. But not only that, think about how this might change the future. If the Pope had retained his flock wars might have turned out differently. Now, with the current level of fracturing, that same war might be lost, or it might never occur.

I just find this fascinating.

Yes, have your 60 armies. Sorry about the fudge-up.

An excellent observation.

On Colonies

A Guide for the Would-Be Imperialist

Upon expanding into white territory, you must delineate colonies. For example, Tambien colonized Virginia, and will establish a 'Colony of Virginia' or whatever he wishes to call it.

Once you have done that, you must set an independence level for the colony, which will determine the risk of revolt and the EP gains. They are:

Level I - Complete control by the motherland. Full EP benefits. Troops can be stationed here in peace and war. Initially low revolt risk but the larger your holdings abroad grow and as time progresses, revolt risk quickly increases. This level costs no EP investment, and is the default on the establishment of a colony

Level II- Basic rights for the colonists. The colonists now have some level of Independence, and as such they decide what happens to half the EP's you net off of them. Medium revolt risk. To upgrade to this the colony must have existed for at least three turns and the mother country must pay 30 EP's.

Level III- Fairly autonomous. You only get 1/4 of the EP's, and can no longer station troops here during peace. To upgrade to this the colony must have existed for at least five turns and it costs 50 EP's.

Level IV- Complete autonomy. No EP benefits. The colonists recruit their own armies, and you cannot put your troops here in peace or war without explicit permission. Very low revolt risk. Must have existed for 7 turns, and costs 70 EP's.

Level V- Independence. They are their own nation now. Can be achieved by the mother country granting it or a rebellion movement surviving for at least one turn. Granting independence costs no money. Granting independence peacefully usually ensures good relations for at least the first few turns.

Okay, grant my American Provinces Level I independence Level.
