IOT Organisational and Discussion Thread

I didn't consider MTC a true sonic IOT cause all it had were sonic cameos every turn that had little effect and chaos energy. Most still had rather normal nations. I was Crusaders that came out of a warp hole(or something) for example, and the gameplay elements were pretty much SoM styled. It was pretty much a sonic-themed normal IOT.

Yes, at last! I've missed you so much!

I've noticed that I'm incapable of running an IOT for more than a month. Is there a way to stop my apathy and GM a game for about 2 months?

Maybe if you TRY to GM again, you'll eventually do so.

That's good advice, Joan, but it would be better if you removed the "again."

Can you make a Dune IOT? The Emperor of South America demmand it!

Yes, well, AA, he tried at least once or twice. That they never actually got to start is irrelevant here.

I've been really thinking about my previous two Peshawar Lancers IOTs, and I've realised that the reason why they collapsed was because I tried to make the game too complicated, despite the fact that I was a n00b GM. Hence, my next iteration (which will begin sometime this month or next) will be a basic IOT with rules based on my Mosaic Earth IOT (which was basically a test to see if the basic mechanics for TPL were feasible). However, to represent the Peshawar Lancers universe and to fix broken game mechanics from ME, several changes would be made:

-A number of White Zones would be present on the map in Europe, Russia, and North America, which represents areas that were depopulated by the Fall. They bear no change on expansion or economics, but for the purposes of starting claims, one White Zone is equal to two regular provinces (for example, you can have eight normal zones and one White Zone, and the maximum amount of White Zones your starting nation could have is 5, which equals 10 normal territories).

-To expand overseas, you need to control every sea zone between your existing territories and the territory you want to colonise. Navies can only move 1 sea zone a turn, too.

-Since nobody seemed to have invested in IC, I might be dropping IC and replacing it with Cities. Cities gives a +25% combat bonus and +10% IC. You can only have 1 City for every 10 territories you own (but White Zones count as 1). Fortunately for White Zone countries, every country starts off with 1 City (their capital).

Never replace letters with numbers in a serious fashion. That's just sad.

I think it's extremely relevant and is the entire point of my previous comment.

It is relevant as it is the point of your previous comment, but on itself is irrelevant to the case. Thus, your previous comment is also irrelevant. This discussion is irrelevant as well.

Since Joan, AA, and NC are being idiots, I guess I'll get back on topic.

It's been a while since I've looked at Peshawar. Any reason why we would want white zones?

I'm not sure how I feel about this. Seas are very easy to contest, or at least, not form a comparative enough advantage to claim "control".

It was good until we reached the 1 City:10 territories limit because its punishing on vertical building, but aybe that's the point. Otherwise, looks fine.

Wow, Sone, I feel hurt. I might go cut myself or something. Thank goodness the ToS exists to soothe my pain.

Define "control."
