IOT: Song of Another World

OOC: I want to paly as an arrogant empire, so don't take it personally ^^

We Caesar and Claudius never had to bother to interact with the likes of you.
We leave it to you to decide if we offend you or not.

Presumably better than yours:

OOC

A little confused that my affairs haven't been outlined. Do they not count or something? Did they fail? Succeed? What's the reaction of those that I reached out to?

oh right, i forgot to send a pm. I'm swamped tomorrow, but I'll try to get it to you as soon as I can.

Hi Tyo. Apologies if it seems like an annoying thing to say right now and I'm willing to wait until after the update, but I'd like to join this game. If it's alright, I'd like some advice if only to know if I should try to join now or wait until after next update.

You can join now. Here's a list of open polities:
{HRE}Province of Brandenburg
{HRE}Province of Brunswick-Launeburg
{HRE}Province of Cologne
{HRE}Province of Lorraine
{HRE}Province of Savoy
{HRE}Province of Bavaria
Kingdom of Norway
Kingdom of Novgorod
Cuman Khanate
Principality of Moldavia
Khwarazmian Empire
Kingdom of Lombardy

The holy roman states are considered vassals of Austria, but can become Emperor themselves in an election. Brandenburg, Cologne, and Brunswick-Lauenburg are probably in the best positions. The others are quite instable, save Austria itself which has a player.
The Kingdom of Norway and the Kingdom of Sweden just hard their monarchs married to eachother so you have that to deal with if that suits you.
Kingdom of Novgorod is in a pretty nice position far enough from the other powers to avoid conflict at the start but close enough to interact, with a lot of room for expansion. Probably overall the "best" start, but probably least interesting.
I dont have much to say about the Khanate, and moldavia is an actual vassal to Poland.
The countries in the east are not reccomended as they are entirely isolated; one of the players that was there left and the other is MIA, and its next to the largest concentration of creatures in the game right now. All in all, not a great place to start your first game. Or in general.
Kingdom of Lombardy isnt in a great position in terms of power and favor, being at the forefront of an invasion of beasts and the overall poorest country in italy. However, this could prove to be the most interesting choice of them all.

Or, you can create your own country in just about any white space so long as its not too big or too small. Also, make sure its feasible to exist in the 12th-13th century.

I'll take Novogord.

Apologies if this is a bit annoying, but if it's alright could you give me a little information on how it is right now? I know this is rather extravagant of me, but I'm new to IOTs and it would be helpful.

EDIT: Doing a bit of study. If I understand right, I have some Dust (and I'm still figuring out what that is), horses, ivory, and fish. I have a palace (presumably this represents the location of Novgorod itself) but no other improvements. I'm going through the SAW Stats from Update 0 next.

EDIT TWO: Never mind, I think I've got the rules down. All I need is my stats and I think I can make a plan.

If tyo somehow doesn't consider me annoying then you definitely aren't

I wanted to ask what to do with Antioch now.
The player doesn't seem to be here anymore and I really need a solution for the Cyprus problem.
So will he be turned into an NPC or should I attack a zombie nation without ruler ?

How're you gonna invade Cyprus with no fleet?

I'll NPC Antioch for now. And indeed, it does not want to give up Cyprus.
Not a really wise move, announcing it in public, now, is it?

To be fair, undeclared war isn't very commonplace in this time period.

so since they're an NPC now does that mean they actually built an army last turn

NPC army mechanics are a little different

so yeah

Tyo, apologies about this but I need to know Novgorod's stats. Otherwise I don't know how I'm supposed to send orders.
