Confirmed
I've got nothing really special planned for the Incas, so you are clear to write a background.
Alrighty, I think I have most of the world's history nailed down, so I'll try and keep aligned; tell me if I hit any rough spots though.
Capital: Cuzco
History:
The Inca Will Rise Again
Ever since the attempted conquests, this has been the motto of the Great Empire. Around the 16th century, the first attempt began. The Sapa Inca, Huyana Capac, had just died, and left the throne to his son, Ninan Cuyochi. 500 men, under the command of Pizzarro, made their way to Cuzco, feigning interest in seeing the Sapa Inca. The plot to overthrow the Sapa Inca was soon discovered though, and the man and his small army were massacred and dealt with. During his thirty year reign, Ninan Cuyochi would fend off three more attempted invasions, and manage to preserve the Empire.
The invasions stopped mid-late century, and by then, the invasion of plague had exacted its full toll. Millions of people had died, and eventually Ninan Cuyochi would succumb to disease himself. The death of Ninan threw the empire into turmoil, and civil war raged between various claimants to the throne, groups seeking independence from the throne, and those looking to take advantage of the lack of law and order. For 70 years, the empire wrestled with attempting to subdue rebellions, claimants, and stop the general chaos. The Empire went through 12 Sapa Inca's in the process of this reunification.
By the early-17th century, the civil war had ended, and the rebellions successfully put down. In doing so, the Empire had lost a significant amount of territory, and was a shell of its former greatness. Slow expansion, and rebuilding took place over the next century, as the empire expanded, cities were rebuilt, and population regrew after the plagues and the civil war.
Come the 19th century, the Empire has surpassed its former greatness, and has grown far beyond its historical borders. Pushing past the Andes into the plains of the east, as well as the edge of the great rainforest. The Inca now have a port city on the Eastern ocean, and a burgeoning settler population. It was there though, that they came into contact with the first invaders since 300 years earlier, the Chumpu people. Unlike the previous invaders, the chumpu were not openly hostile, and did not attempt to overthrow the Sapa Inca, so cordial relations were established. But never beyond that, for wariness of the throne being threatened again. They formally call themselves "New Holland", or "Dutch", but the name Chumpu stuck as that was the most prominent color on their flags.
From the north, the previous invaders had returned, under the guise of "Colombia". Defensive positions, and large army groups remain on the border should they ever attempt to re-invade the Empire, and overthrow the Sapa Inca. Relations have not been established, and the Sapa Inca refuses any advances to do so.
And so, the course of the Inca is anything but known from here on out. The beginning of the 19th century has seen the invaders reappear on the borders of the new Empire, but no attempts to overthrow the Sapa Inca have yet occurred. What happens next, only history will tell. But, throughout all that could possibly happen, one thing is certain. The Incan Empire will live. Through Iron and Blood,
The Inca Will Rise Again.
