Full of drivel
Leave a baby alone with nothing to teach it. It will never learn anything.
Actually, it will learn how to move about and what can be eaten (anything orgainic).
Sorry I am not trying to offend any gay but you are not born that way. It doesn't work like that. You are not born any with any sexual preference it is the world around you that makes you straight or gay. Most people are straight because its what everyone else is doing and we take it in. If a male was raised in a gay community from birth he would be far more likely to be gay. I never met a gay man, I met many lesbians, this gives me a less of a chance to be gay. You are not born gay, just like you are not born able to speak English or able to read. No ones sexuality is effected by birth or dna or anything. Just like I prefer brunettes because most of my family is blonds and blonds remind me of family and that makes me not like blond chicks. I guess you might not like your parents and because they are hetero you want to be different subconsciously. But you are not born gay.
For thousands of years, humans have had to have sex with [healthy] women in order to have [their] children [survive]. Nowadays, there are so many new inventions (and children) that this is no longer vital to our survival, so this is possible. That is why until a few hundred years ago, being homosexual was impossible for survival. The human instinct to reproduce, is, however, still here, so the only reason gayness would be possible is by birth defects. The reason it's possible to go back is because humans still have that tiny attraction to the opposite sex, and this can be nurtured and grow to a love.
There is no study that has been duplicated to give the exact same results so say that a person is born Gay. Ther have been plenty of studies done on this subject and each study is different. Anyone who says that they were born gay are just kidding themselves, because there is always an incident somewhere along the line that they had to make a decision.
@Stapel, you will be surprised at how many decisions that people make everyday and yet when you asked them about it, they would not say they made a choice at all, even though there are other possibilities that they could have done.
I have a question for those who think that it is not a choice. How do you explain people who have come out from a homosexual lifestyle?
Everybody has to make the decision on what actions to follow through with, not necessarily what thoughts to think.
As I said above, that little natural instinct is still harbored in our minds, so it's a lot easier to come back than to go over.Long ago, in another thread about this same topic, I discussed the successful brainwashing of American POWs during WW2 by the Japanese. It clearly shows that allegiances can be changed. Brainwashing can also successfully change the sexuality of a person. And brainwashing is just "environmental factors" in my opinion.
I have not tried to change my gender that I'm attracted to. I haven't been interested.
"Choice" is an incredibly poor word for this discussion. "Learned" is better. In other words, environmental factors play a part in all of this.
Changing affiliation of factions is a lot different. It's like an argument, you try to use proof and logic to convince the other guy that your cause is the just one, while there is no proof nor logic to be offered in homosexual desires (You can't convince a straight guy to become homosexual, or vice-versa, it's their choice).
