Is "don't ask don't tell" an acceptable policy?

I've seen it done successfully many times. Though never tried myself. But a blow-back must certainly be a risk.

It's fair in that you are telling someone not to be overtly sexual for their pay.
More or less service members do that regardless of orientation.


That said, I don't care about DADT, and I can understand why homosexuals might view DADT as a biased policy, assuming that sexual orientation is irrelevant to fulfilling one's military service.
