IsrNES: Beresheet, In the Begining

Lord_Iggy said:
The one that died? Maybe Israelite has just raised it back from the dead so it has a second chance on wild success

There was also a "From the Beginning" that reached 200+ pages and 100+ updates :)

@Lord Iggy- Orders are do friday at 7:30 U.S. Central Time (GMT -6). It's on the first page in bold letters.

@Jason the King- The name of this NES is actually Beresheet, but since only one other person on here deffinately speaks Hebrew, I transalted it into English for the sake of my fellow NESers.

Note- When I say "one other person on here deffinately speaks Hebrew", I don't mean that I speak it fluently. I only speak little bits and pieces that I gathered after 6 or 7 years of Hebrew school, most of it religious Hebrew.

@Erik Mesoy- Great story! Thanks for keeping them short and spread out, it really helps me

To Assyria
For we are not the only ones don here. While we would surly fall under your mighty army, it would be a long, bloody conflict that would eventually see both our nations weak and/or gone, leaving them to be easily taken by the uncivilized barbarians that surround us. Let us turn our attention to them, before we fail, and we act like them and turn on one another.

Templar (Infantry) UU: The Leaders of the Babylonian Army, the Templars are Engineer-Priest, Utterly Fanatic to the Sumerian gods and defense of Babylon, and Experts at adapting their battlefield Environment to suit their needs. Be it constructing a temporary dam to flood their enemies and soak their equipment before the battle, or whipping up a small defensive wall for the barbarian horde to crash upon and break. With enough men under their command, there is nothing that cannot do.

Project: Templar Complex. A Combination public schooling system and religious Institution. The East wingis a temple dedicated to the Sumerian God. The north wing is where the Templars Live and Train, and beyond it are a series of Buildings where Babalylons Standing army is housed. There is a large Plaza in the middle of this, where the Army can train and perform small scale maneuvers. The East wing holds the houses Of Learning, where any citizen can come to peruse the Clay Tablets containing the learned knowledge of Babylon. There are also several small rooms whose floor is covered with sand. It is here where the Children of Babylon spend one day a week, from the Ages of 6-8, Learning to read, write, and basic math. Attendance is Mandatory. The rest of the time, they are open to use by the public, on a first come, first served basis. To the south is a Long, Straight road running through Babylon, leading right to the steps of the Palace.

@TerrisH-Aren't you monotheistic? Well, anyway, project would take 8 turns. I'm guesing that you are leaving the exact benefits up to me, so you will have to wait and learn.

@Everyone-It would be much appreciated if when you develop a wonder, you tell me exactly what you want it to do, rather than just the description. The description I also want, but I do need the exact benefits.

To Babylon
From Assyria
You have good reasoning, very well, we shall sign a NAP with you. But be forwarned, Assyria does not lay dormant for loong periods of time, thus, we will only sign a NAP for 5 turns. If after those 5 turns we feel that extending the NAP is worthwile, then we will negotiate. Comprende?

To Assyria.
We thank you for seeing the Light of Reason. a 5 Turn NAP it is.

OOC:Ops.. fixed it. now it is a single Temple. and the basic effect I am hopeing is a slightly better trained army and a better educated populous.

@TerrisH- There is no Holy City yet, so actually, you could build one if you wanted. And of course there can be multiple holy cities, depending on factionalism and other issues. (see Zoroastrianism, they have four, Islam has at least three major ones and dozens of minor ones depending on the sect, and Christianity really has 4 [Rome for Catholics, Istanbul for Orthodox, Askum for Ehtipian Orthodox, and Jerusalem for all, as well as hundreds of minor ones]). But, if that's what you ant, then it will only take 6 turns.

Hope you dont mind if I join, if you do its too late anyway :D

Sorry Giio, but Norway is off limits to start in for now (it will be for a while). The closest thing would be the Finno-Ugrics of Karaelia (sp? ask Reno for more) and Estonia. I would suggest, though, not starting in a grey civilization zone since taht will be extremely hard to play. Especially not in the baltic area since there is a PC there already. I would suggest instead that you either take one of the PC's, Carthage, Phoenicia, Marseilles, and Egyptra are very strong ones, or start in a green zone. Of course, if you want to start in a grey zone, probably the best grey areas to start in would be West Africa, Britain, and Ireland, since they are rather cut off. The choice really is yours.

Tepesh looked back at the dwindling walls of Thebes, as he passed out of sight of his nation's capital.

Set's guidance would guide him through the deserts to the people in the far south. The Kush ites had spoken of the Ethiopians, and of how they lived in Nu (the mythical source of the Nile). Tepesh would be the first Egyptian ever to see the holy place.

Many weeks passed. Tepesh hunted the wild animals by the Nile. The further up the river and closer to Nu he made it, the more of a dangerous and wild place it became. In these lands, the Nile's floods were much lower, and the land was drier. There had been no sight of any villages for weeks.

After several months of travel, the haggard man arrived in Kush. He was greeted warmly by the locals, and spent a while there. But he knew that he couldn't spend time among these people forever. Tepesh once again set out from civilization. His goal was getting closer.

@andis-1- Yes, you sent orders.

@Everyone- The time has come! Orders fro now on are here by declared late. They may be accepted, at least at first, but they also may not. So hurry procrastinators if you have not sent in orders (I am not sure, everyone might have actually sent orders, I really should check now).

I'd like to join, if that's ok.

Nation Background: The Nubian kingdom of Kush is a farming kingdom prime for trade. Situated strategically between the important nations of Egypt and the growing nations of Ethiopia, Kush also lies on the joining of the Blue Nile and White Nile Rivers. Though this could be an easy asset for trade, it could also bring on unwanted attention.

Nubian Polytheism is basically the same as the Egyptian religion, right?
