When I try to run the actua;l Civ4BeyondSword application, it automatically crashes and asks if I want to send a report to Microsoft. When I click on details, I get:
AppName: Civ4beyondsword.exe AppVer: 3.1.3.1 ModName: Kernel32.dll
ModVer: 5.1.2600.3119 Offset 00012a5b
When I try to run the autorun file, it loads halfway then gets about two billion xml errors. At the end, it crashes and asks if I want to send a report to microsoft. When I check that one the Modname is ntdll.dll, which all I know about that is it related to kernel32.dll. Are these related? How do i fix them?
I tried everything in the XML topic:

This is a download version being run on Windows XP. I'm pretty sure this is an U.S. copy of the game, and I am using XP from the U.S. with service pack 2, which makes me think it isn't the whole Regional and Language options needs to set Decimal Symbol to . and Digit Grouping Symbol to , because they are both that way. I can't even get the game up. Any ideas?
