JalNES I: Quick and Easy

I'm still holding out hope that I can update. Unfortunately, all I've done so far is put all of the necessary info together so that I can work on it in multiple places.

I still have hope that I can get the update done--I may get a chance to work on it tomorrow. Unfortunately, it appears I'll only be able to work on it in 20-minute chunks.

Basically, don't expect the update anytime soon. I'm very sorry. :(

We will wait for it JD, aslong as you eventually get it done.
I'll try...

NO JALAPENO! Don't let this d**! Since NK's awesome nes is gone this is the only ancient age nes where I'm in! You can do the updateeeee!!!!

Besides, DNES had maybe one update per month and it still kept going, just because it was so good. The case is same with this.

Do the update JD we'll wait.

Well, at least andis stayed... I was worried that you'd quit after destroying my weeks of work.

*cough* THESSALONIKA! *cough* ;)

Started the update for real. I've done Atyria and the central Mediterranean.

Slow and steady loses the race, but at least it finishes it. :p

Hi, is it too late to join?

No it's not, but wait until after the update.

O.K, i'll wait until then.

However, can i have some advice? I know that to some extent i can decide my own stats, but how much?

I've looked at the thread and it seems you get story bonuses. I have a few ideas for some stories. Is it true, and if so, should i post them?

The template is in post #8. Or you can pick an NPC.

Yes, please post stories!

Update on the update (:p)--now working on the Eirehann-Tartessos war. Let's just say  and stick with that...

I have quite a lot of stuff, but how long should it be? Just tell me a length and i'll stick to it- however long or short.

The template doesn't tell me how good or bad a nation i can make- i presume there is a spending point system, but how many points can i spend?

In the stats, next to Economy you'll see 2/3/1 or something like it. The total of the three numbers are that turn's spending total. Points (EPs) cannot be saved from turn to turn. Read the rules carefully they will tell you the basics of spending. Post any questions.

Here are the current NPCs non player characters) you could choose from. Some are in the middle of wars, so I would wait for the update and outcome before choosing them (Tartarssos and Byzantium are two that are at war I believe).

Some have alliances and trade agreements in place. JD can tell you what when you choose. Four are located in Japan pretty far from the main action.

I meant on creating a nation- for example, i can't put confidence, infrastructure and education at max and have a huge army. I don't think it's like Stormbringer's where you post and stats are decided for you, but how does it work?

JD will Decide your Starting Stats. that's how it was for all of us. a good discription of your nation will give you better Starting Stats. but other then that, there is not much you can do to infulence it.

Oh, i thought i remembered seeing that somebody had posted all their stats and was told to cut down a little on them. Anyway, i may as well post what i intend to do. I have a backup plan in case Prussia takes over too much of Sweden, but:

Name: Swede Confederation
Capital: Stockholm

Religion (cut down version): Believes every tribe has it's own pantheon that really exists. It's not clear to anybody if they are equal or inferior to the Swede pantheon. There is a doctrine pantheons can submit to minor status in other pantheons (associated with conquest), and a doctrine of every plant, animal, and human being (and concept) having a personal god.

Background: Once JD gives me a length, will do full version.

To sum up, the massacre of the Swissia tribe by the Odent led to a lone protestor joining another tribe and organizing an anti-Odent coalition. The result was the Swiss Confederation. After thousands of years of intrigue, the development of a state religion, the rise and fall of several factions, and two outlawed heresies (unfortunately, one has the support of most city people and the other of most country people), the Confederation is now in practice a centralized Kingdom (if not in theory) under a dynastic union of the two major factions, the Snipes (short for Sniper- assassins, basically) and the Warriors. They finally are able to look out on the world and expand. The other factions don't like it but can't do anything about it.
