Yeh it's a dumb post, but to anyone who's heard Jamiroquai songs, do you think they are Disco? I have a lot of their songs, and I say they play disco, whatever they're catogorised as on MTV. I've a lot of Village People too, and Jamiroquai have a similar, special 70's - 80's tinge to their music.

I've got this feeling this will be a dead thread soon...

The Evil Villian in Mystery Men: "They say that disco is a thing of the past...That disco is dead."
One of the Disco Boys: "Disco is NOT dead!!! Disco is LIFE!"

I haven't heard Jamiroquai in ages. I'll have to dig up some cd if i have one of theirs.

I loved their video where the lead singer was walking in the moving room....as to whether the music is disco or not....I can't determine what it is exactly... : catchy :)

Yeah, there's no shortage of a disco influence, but more than anything I hear a blatant rip-off of Stevie Wonder.

The one with the moving room was Virtual Insanity...
Makes me want to grow a little fuzz, put on a jacket and fedora and learn to dance so smooooooth...But gotta watch out for gays and well, anyone-who-looks-gay bashers :)

But I MUCH prefer most anything to kiddie pop. Boy bands in particular cause an irratiaonal bad reaction. To the point where when I hear a good song, and it turns out to be by a boy band, I somehow find that same song less appealing.

The 'Canned Heat' track is definitely disco - I think Jamiroquai are superb. Can't deny the Stevie Wonder influence but to call it blatant rip-off is a bit overboard.
But yeah, the disco influence is massive.
