Inherited Turn(1250 AD)
What to do with the Great Scientist? Well Munich is the only city, really, that would benefit from an Academy, but currently an Academy would only bring in an extra 4-5 beakers/turn. That hardly seems worth it.
A Super Specialist will bring in an extra 9 beakers/turn (not including bonuses). On the other hand, we can also use him to knock ~ 2500 beakers off of Education. The latter sounds like the best bet, and as none of the other Civs have Education yet, so much the better! Maybe we can beat Qin and Lizzie to Liberalism!
It's decided, I lightbulb Education and switch from Military Tradition --> Education to finish it. With binary research (0% - 100%) we should be able to finish it in 9-10 turns.
Gandhi and Saladin will also trade us for Nationalism. I'll have to remember to do this, but not before I get Taj Mahal at least half built in Berlin.
Turn 1: (1256 AD)
Berlin finishes: Theatre --> Taj Mahal (23)
Kagoshima finishes: Granary --> Courthouse (26)
Turn 2: (1262 AD)
Turn 3: (1268 AD)
Turn 4: (1274 AD)
Hamburg finishes: Market --> Musketman (9)
Turn 5: (1280 AD)
Essen finishes: Granary --> Lighthouse (30)
Saladin builds Versailles. He also has Education now, and will no longer trade us for Nationalism.
Turn 6: (1286 AD)
Turn 7: (1292 AD)

Courthouse in Satsuma
Turn 8: (1299 AD)
Technology discovered: Education --> Liberalism
Satsuma finishes: Courthouse --> Caravel(7)
Turn 9: (1304 AD)
Turn 10: (1310 AD)
Qin demands that we cancel our deals with India. You won't trade with us, so screw you, Fatboy!
Turn 11: (1316 AD)
Elizabeth requests the gift of Education. I remind her that England is not included in the No Child Left Behind program and send her on her way.
Libyan finishes: Granary --> Barracks (90)
Qin is the first to circumnavigate the globe. (I'm surprised it hadn't been done earlier!)
Turn 12: (1316 AD)
Turn 13: (1322 AD)
Cologne finishes: Market --> Barracks(5)

Forge in Dortmund
Turn 14: (1328 AD)
Dortmund finishes: Forge --> Lighthouse (37)
Hamburg finishes: Musketman --> Musketman (7)
Frankfurt finishes: Market --> Musketman (12)
Saladin adopts Free Market. It looks like he went after Economics instead of Liberalism, so I think that we will get there first!
Turn 15: (1334 AD)
Satsuma finishes: Caravel --> Lighthouse (9)
Trade Saladin: Clams for Bananas
Spices for 9 GP/turn
Played an extra turn to get us to a round number (1340 AD).
Research is set to 0%. At 90%, Liberalism will be finished in 5. With flip-flopping between 0% and 90%, we should be able to discover Liberalism in ~ 8 turns. Assuming we make it, we can take either Military Tradition, Chemistry (if we deal for Engineering first) or Astronomy.
We've already invested ~ 500 beakers into MT, so my feeling is that we should take either Chem. or Astro., probably the former so we can start building an invasion force ASAP. On the other hand, the AIs are usually slow to research Astronomy, so we should be able to get a good return on our investment if we take it.
The Taj Mahal will finish in Berlin in 7 turns. In 2-3 turns, we should trade Nationalism to as many civs as we can. I haven't done so yet, because I didn't want to lose the Taj to a Great Engineer, and I don't know which civs have Marble. Right now, we could get the following:
Saladin: Engineering or Banking (take the former!) + 90 GP
Qin: 1270 GP
Gandhi: World Map + 70 GP
With Ghandi's map, we'll be able to plan our invasion of the Mainland. Nobody's our great friend, and more and more, I feel this game will be won via Domination or Conquest. Diplomacy still might be an option once we adopt Free Religion.
Take it away jeejeep!
