Joan d'Tupace

d'Tupace now felt supremely confident in her power, so confident that she felt able to take on the world... with only the might Russia to back her!

13irowar2bf.jpg

That was a big mistake Hiawatha!

d'Tupace began this new campaign by seizing instantly reachable Iroquois cities.

14ashur8dp.jpg

15odessa6sn.jpg

d'Tupace now had to be wary of the Domination limit so she sent the orders to her generals...

'All Cities are to be Razed unless otherwise noted.'

Yakutsk was unlucky first.

16yakustk0ty.jpg

And the ancient Iroquois city of Grand River could not be saved by the Sistine Chappel. d'Tupace cared not for Temples or Cathderals when she had luxs and luxury sliders! The awe-inspiring cathederal, and everything around it, was destroyed.

17grandriver7yg.jpg

To celebrate d'Tupace completed her Heroic Epic in Paris

18he8jw.jpg

and Battlefield Medicine in Marseilles, thus giving her a complete set of small wonders aside from Pentagon, Military Academy, Apollo Program and Intelligence Agency... wait a minute.. what small wonders has she actually got!?

19battlefieldmed4jf.jpg

d'Tupace also gave the orders for all German cities near Berlin to be destroyed, she didn't want Berlin coming under any cultural pressure.

20bremen4fb.jpg

21munich8ra.jpg

Stuttgart to the North was also destroyed, not because of its effect on Berlin. d'Tupace had found she just didn't like these Germans!

22stuttgart4wt.jpg

Back in Iroquoisland the French artillery stack of 40 had reached near enough to Salamanca to open fire and after suffering a withering barrage of artillery fire the city cracked open like an eggshell and the French Cavalry had no problems seizing the city. d'Tupace kept it as he was quite keen on this Adam Smith fellow...

23salamanca7rr.jpg

The troops then headed West to Allgheny where another powerful artillery barrage levelled the city, making its destruction a mere formality.

24allgheny8ep.jpg

d'Tupace had the world by the throat. She no longer believed defeat was even possible. She stood proudly and defiantly against the last major powers of the world and she declared fiercely
'We are France! We are the Children of Tupac the almighty! And we shall rule this world alone!'

The proclomation was made, the die was cast as it were. Conquest it would be.

d'Tupace started her continuing advances in Germany by attacking Frankfurt, a large German city, from the military base in Berlin. Travelling along the rails her troops reached the city in a single turn and the two rifles defending the city were no match for d'Tupace's seemingly unstoppable cavalry.

25frankfurt9tk.jpg

d'Tupace positioned troops strategically in Iroquoisland. The next turn would be huge from her.

She watched the pitiful counter attacks from the Germans and Iroquois and then with glee she began her next turn. The cavalry divisions being trained back home (roughly 20 a turn) had reached the front by travelling along the railways constructed by the slaves from the destroyed cities. They were split into 7 groups of 15 cavalry, although without Artillery support. And the attacks took place at Centralia...

26centralia7ip.jpg

St. Regis (an odd name for an Iroquois city)...

27stregis0lz.jpg

Oil Springs...

28oilsprings1sz.jpg

Niagra Falls...

29niagrafalls7gf.jpg

Kish (an old Babylonian city)...

30kish6oh.jpg

and Tonwanda

31tonawanda1hl.jpg

All of those cities fell in a single turn. d'Tupace knew the Iroquois were finished. It was now just a case of cleaning up the mess.

Back in Germany the cavalry attacked and destroyed Leipzig, finally freeing Berlin from cultural pressure.

32leipzig7sr.jpg

d'Tupace was delighted with that turn. She smiled, she knew the next turn would be another profitable one.

And indeed it was. The cleanup began well, with only the uninjured cavalry to work with (approximately 30 cavalry were last last turn), Mauch Chunk fell without a hitch.

33mauchchunk7mu.jpg

Hlobane's defences vanished without a trace.

34hlobane8sp.jpg

And the defences at Intombe? The French cavalry walked straight through them, which is a shame because to stop that sort of thing is precisely why the defences were there in the first place.

35intombe7yy.jpg

d'Tupace knew there was not much to do now. But the finale would have to wait until she returned from cricket, an odd game with no connection to France. Still d'Tupace was a big fan of the game, and quite a talented opening Bowler, even if she did say so herself.

World Map at end of Update.

36worldmap9as.jpg

d'Tupace was looking to wrap things up quickly. She had more cavalry then she knew what to do with. She had more cavalry than shoes, handbags and clothes combined! So she didn't care whether or not one incy cavalry died and thus was perfectly happy to send every cavalry into battle every turn, knowing full well that it would simply be replaced the next turn by a newer, fresher cavalry. The Iroquois were as good as dead and Germany had nothing left to throw either. Moving out of Berlin two dozen cavalry attacked the city of Cologne. There were no survivors.

German survivors that is.

1cologne5zz.jpg

Now d'Tupace's men up in Iroquoisland had a job to finish and they did it with panache.

Bapedi was the first to go, downed in a sea of horses and blackpowder.

2bapedi7pb.jpg

Then Mpondo... poor guys, never had a chance.

3mpondo3pe.jpg

Then Zimbabwae. Did you know that the Zulu never built a single wonder? Thats quite unusual for a deity AI.

4zimbabwae8hl.jpg

Ngome was a nothing city even before the French got there. After the French had been there it was actually nothing.

5ngome9ig.jpg

If Hiawatha had harboured ambitions of achieving something with this tiny town a million miles from anything he was sadly mistaken. d'Tupace wouldnt even countenance its existence.

6akwesane9lg.jpg

And finally to Cattaraugus where the Iroquois were finally, irrevocably... dealt with.

7cattaraugus8sw.jpg

8deadiro7rn.jpg

Back to Germany now where the might cavalry were also rushing through cities like there was no tomorrow.

Goodbye Hamburg,

9hamburg3ef.jpg

Sevestopol

10sevestopol2vq.jpg

and Sverdlovsk in a single turn.

11sverdlosvsk9av.jpg

d'Tupace was not impressed by his opponenets so decided to take on Russia too.

12russiawar9gg.jpg

Like they would be able to do anything!

d'Tupace decided to deal with pesky 'mother' Russia first.

Moscow d'Tupace decided to keep. Those big pointy granaries were something she had wanted for Millenia and although it was too late to make use of them, she wanted to have them anyway.

13moscow7rz.jpg

Tblisi was protected by SPEARMEN! Spearmen, of all things! d'Tupace laughed so hard she felt sick. Ugly Cathy thought that SPEARMEN could stop d'Tupace? She was a very stupid woman. And d'Tupace showed her so.

14tblisi5ye.jpg

St.Petersburg (a German sounding name if you ask d'Tupace) was also destroyed.

15st8dx.jpg

And d'Tupace thought she was done with Russia... but no! They were still around, but where. Oh. Aha I see, that tiny town of Minsk, well thats no problem.

16minsk4ol.jpg

17deadrussia1ur.jpg

'Ok baldy, its just you and me now...' thought d'Tupace.

You rebuilt Munich ay... well like father city-like son city.

Bubye

18munich5dw.jpg

Nuremberg? There won't be any war crimes tribunals in this world. d'Tupace does what d'Tupace feels like!

19nuremberg3lw.jpg

And now to cut Germany onto a small little peninsula. Once Konigsberg is gone that will be all they have. Oh look. Its gone!

20konigsberg1nl.jpg

Heidelburg was the new capital. It was also a new pile of ashes.

21heidelburg9hn.jpg

On to Bonn! Alas for Germany! Baldy really is no match for the superior wits of Joan d'Tupace! Bonn became a bonn-fire

22bonn2tr.jpg

Hannover was the next target, it was also the home of the brilliant scientist Issac Newton. He had to die. Shame, he was a smart kid but he threw his lot in with the wrong people.

23hannover6mx.jpg

And finally to Salzburg. The city was razed and...

24salzburg0jl.jpg

d'Tupace ran out of picture space...

... so d'Tupace had to make a new post.

This is what happened once Salzburg was destroyed.

25deadgerm1ij.jpg

26victory1nn.jpg

d'Tupace smiled.

She had a look at the Demographics,

27demos8ma.jpg

I was top in Mfg. Goods, GNP and Productivity from about the beginning of the 2nd Babylonian war and as I say, once you are top in those you will not lose militarily. Period.

Aha! Tupacius hadn't been first in everything had he! But she was dissapointed to see the score.

28score9us.jpg

My score just rose and rose throughout the game as I was almost always warring against someone.

29power4ff.jpg

and the same can be seen in the powergraph as well

30culture4vl.jpg

This was actually one of my lowest culture scores ever! A mere 4000-odd culture at the end

She had been pipped by Tupacius in score. However her mood lifted slightly when she was proclaimed d'Tupace the Magnificent! (ok d'Arc but Arc is really Frenche for Tupace... honest)

31themagnificent6wq.jpg

So d'Tupace had to wonder. What next for a member of the Tupac family? What was the next challenge for them to take on?

That my friends, is up to you...

Of course by that I mean, tell me what challenge you would like to see me undertake and if its reasonable (i'm not doing a OCC DAW Pangea Space Race with a bad start, for example) and I'll have the time (a huge map might not be an option) then I'll have a crack at it!

Some suggestions are

A PhoenixRising Game.
A DAW
Some other crazy variant (so long as its not too crazy ;))

So if you've got a bit of a challenge you want to see the Tupac family take on then post in this thread or PM me. If enough people take an interest in seeing me tackle a big challenge then I'll just have to have a crack at it :)

@Sima - Nice work with the names! I'll have to remember to use them if I end up with the relative civ.

How about a variant I've been pondering for a while: Supreme Nationalists. This is for the ultimately arrogant, dominating, aggressive civ.

Pretty similar to defiant:

1. No foreigners are tolerated within your borders. They must be told to leave as soon as they're spotted. Repeat until the offenders go or declare.

2. No per turn trade agreements or treaties. Workers and techs may be purchased for straight cash, but that's it. No alliances or gpt deals.

3. Peace treaties are allowed, but only if the other side is giving more than you are.

4. No giving in to extortion. Ever. All such demands must be refused.

5. All conquered cities are razed. No exceptions. They are inferior.

And here's the kicker:

5. Your civ is too proud to let its own citizens work. No workers may be built after the first foreign slave is taken. As soon as you start taking foreign slaves, you must rejoin any existing native workers back into your cities on a 2:1 basis (i.e. for every two slaves you take, you return 1 native worker to being a citizen). Soon the only labor in your empire will be slave labor.

Sound like a worthy challange for the Tupac dynasty? I suspect that this would mean changing up a lot of strategies that have worked well for you in the past. Could be interesting.

That looks too hard... for anybody.:crazyeye:

Too hard isnt a problem. Too easy is.
Sohard isn't a problem when you're down to 1 size on city with tanks surrounding your garrisoned spearmen?

I usually make my variants easy enough that I can write an interesting story about it. Sending mountains of tanks and cavalry into enemy territory as soon as possible just doesn't quite cut it for me...

Good things come in threes!:goodjob:.Do then next one on a cultural civ, since you tend to go for conquest, and that will make it a chanlenge. Babalon and India come to my mind.

I thought it was bad things come in threes.
When do you plan to start, Tupac?

Hot diggity! That sounds like one hell of a challenge! I've played with the two number 5's uv listed (;)) before and wasn't too hard, this game also taught me to learn to live without bach's or smiths my two favourite MA wonders by a mile.
The rest of it is pretty much just straight defiant, which I must admit I havent played before. You want to see defiant taken to extremes check out Goz8 - Silence is Golden.

A question about rule 2 though. Would I be permitted to sell techs for gpt? Or only straight cash? Also am I allowed to trade luxuries straight or is that a 'gpt deal'. What I'm asking is if it is purely a turn by turn thing (so wouldnt lose your rep if the deal was broken) am I allowed to trade? Also I think it would be reasonable to make them pay gpt for techs or the like (after all nationalists like having people constantly paying u money!)

That sounds like a wager to me ;)

Too hard for deity, I'm pretty sure.

Too hard for deity? You sure know how to make me want to give something a go! If someone says it cant be done then I'm going to try and prove them wrong. We'll see what I can do ay.

Good to see people have faith though

A cultural civ ay? That sounds like fun, might just have to give it a whirl... :mischief:

I've got cricket training now but when I get home I'll see about starting up a new game.

Deity - Supreme Nationalists - Cultural Civ

Lets see how much I can handle :)
