I'll ask to start a new thread again soonish- but its a drag everyone changing signatures.. so i might edit the first post to link to any new threads saving you the trouble?

That's a good thought, but I just link to the team's page at folding.stanford.edu anyway, so no matter to me one way or the other.

Just get everyone that does have a link in their signature to do it that way.

What if we could get an introductory post in the OT Notice Board with all the basic info and links. We could linking to the end of the current discussion thread if people want to ask more questions, so that they wouldn't have to plought through the whole lot to ask a simple question.

its gotta be worth a try.

:) If anyone out there is still lurking, trying to decide whether or not to join us - yes, please do! :)

It doesn't matter how powerful or slow your computer is, or what your operating system is. If you've got a computer and enough internet connections to come to CFC, why not help medical/scientific research? Please sign up: it costs you nothing.

What is this?
Your computer's spare processing power - there's usually plenty of it - does numbercrunching as part of a distributed, networked supercomputer. The numbers it crunches are for simulating protein "folding" - discovering details about their structure and formation. When you know more about how they shape and form, you know a LOT more about how they work: there are lots of medical applications. Cancers, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, BSE - all diseases we hope to cure with this project.

Oh, and by the way - thank you all to everyone who's joined; :goodjob: we're now the 1205th best team! Rising pretty darn fast in just a couple of months. :D
(:( I think our rate of rise is slowing, though ....)

A link to our team page would also be good, that way they would be able to see what they can achieve, and might be more intereted than otherwise.

ok, ok I'll ask a mod for it :)

Nice post Sophie.. might steal that!
