    I 100% agree with you, you're absolutely right :)

    But the argument was that a City nuked to 0 hp (as how it should be) can be taken by literally any unit, regardless of CS.

    I honestly don’t get why XCom’s power is so high in the first place.
    Paratrooper is 40/42CS and comes 1 tech after Infantry (55/60 CS), so about 70% as strong.
    XCOM is 70/75CS and comes 2 techs after mech infantry (70/75CS). It’s pretty crazy that XCOMS have the same power as the melee line’s final unit when it can teleport everywhere. They should be 55CS, 20 points below mech infantry

    But GDRs take uranium, and they are arguably less useful than teleporting XCOMS

    Special forces exist though, between Paratrooper and XCOM.

    Special forces exist as a contemporary to Mechanized Infantry. Only XCOM is allowed to drop wherever they want without the CS malus for being recon instead of normal infantry. They're completely broken, they just get ignored because most games are over before they matter.

    I think they are so overpowered for a reason: this way late warmongers can make a dent. Maybe enough for stopping the cultural or the diplomatic leader.
