Because I am rather new to this whole concept of sharing my thoughts with strangers about a game that I love to play, just because here I may assume that most people at least know what I am talking about when I am rambling on about where I built a certain city and for which strategic reasons etcetera... I tried to put into writing some of my own preconceptions I have had about the social dynamics that give life to a forum, which may have withheld me from joining, for much longer that it should have
Keep in mind that I was in a mood to jest when the following words appeared in my head:
I don't understand why I always get the impression that on any Forum that revolves around a particular subject of popular interest, the opinions of the participants of any discussion taking place on that forum, is not only valued for its meaning, insight or passion for the subject of interest, but so often so greatly depends on the status the the person that posted the comment holds on the Forum in question.
Is my logic so hard to follow, that just because somebody withheld sharing their opinions and ideas about the issues discussed therein, during the long period where they were so deeply involved in exploring all the of the delicate aspects of that which had fascinated them so much for so long, it led them to believe in a fiction, in which there couldn't possibly be that many others with the same level of involvement alive on the planet, who had managed to keep those abilities in tact, which allow them to function (almost) like regular people.
So consider this train of thought I have led you on with my rebellious sounding tale, when you skip over a reply from a newbe, just to see what that guy, you never actually met in person, but has had the Deity status for quite some time, with over 4800 occasions where he felt he had something so important to share with his fellow members, that it would enrich their lives with the insights he chose to share at that moment so much that they should be grateful he does not keep all this wisdom solely to himself.
Consider that someone who just figured out, that while he spent every minute he could spare researching the subject that sparked so much of his personal interest, he'd gladly sacrifice the fame and the respect that comes with being a forum big-wig, for a few extra hours, spent on playing his favorite game!
Peace, love and joy to you all!
