K 7 - The Zany 'Zerkers' (thanx to meldor)

Yeah, and the 0.4% chance was with assuming hills, the town was on grassland  I tok it next turn w/o losses :D

(9) 1/3 of Japan now ours.

And yes, gothmog, a nice setup. very nice.

meli. no prob on he Knights. If you#d played from the start you would have seen how effective a Zerker only attack is and never even thought of the Knights.

Melifluous, don't feel bad. Knights would be more useful if there wasn't so much coast line around. I think meldor may have mentioned building some long ago when the Greek/Celt/China island was our target.

(10) as this war is drawing to an end the french language is only spoken on a tiny little colonial island west of russia :D

the Spanish have LOTS (25) of units near and in paris. Luckily, we will not have to fight with them too much, we'll simply take the cities from the sea  only 3 are NOT at the coast.

A ****! 'j' will move a stack of Galley to a spot where they will sink if one of them doesn't have enough move left to reach the secure spot! What a ****ing screwup! Firaxis seems incapable of getting anything right the first time!

(11) Japan gets smaller and smaller, but musketmen are tough. And the Japanese field army arrives, I raze a town we wouldn't be able to hold anyways to get them inot the open. Then will run down coast and take cities in their back.

Does Japan have the great wall? No, but still it takes an average of 3 zerkers to kill a pikeman!

Still, I manage to raze one more town costing Japan a settler and a few workers.

(13) it is getting absurd! Knights attacking Pikemen and Spearmen in the open cannot get a 1:1 ratio! And Zerkers attacking Musketmen in cities regularly do no damage at all!

**** Firaxis! I've had it for today, will finish tomorrow.

Killer, yes I found out about the problem with 'j' too. I guess I should have mentioned it. When I needed to move a bunch of Galleys to one of our jumping off spots I do it all manually with spacebar at the end. Then I can use 'j' for the ones already there.

I had some bad RNG runs too. Don't worry you will get yours and then they will get theirs!

gothmog: if you loose ten turns in a virus-scan runaway  the program identified PTW saves containing a - in the name as virus files and deleted them

Don't you have norton undelete installed

still (13): I tried to replay what i lost of that turn and I must have gotten things right - a horrible streak of RNG results  Egypt declares war for no reason - they wanted a few 100 gold and i said no. Well, suicidal women  First Galley with zerkers going there.

(14) move some troops - for example into a newly founded Japanese town ;) the idiots joined two settlers into it
Spain sure isn't really weak:
pikestack.jpg

(15) moves moves moves. attack on spain can come soon. Japanese tried to re-establish Shimonoseki :nono: Kill troops from off-shore w/o exposing Zerkers: 7:2 for us.
The Egyptian Spearman is on something - he kills two zerkers for no hits.

(16) Japan wants peace - for free
Astronomy found, nav in 8.
Our zerkers continue to lose :(
Somehow, Japan really wants that one city spot. raze it again.

(17) Japan lands a settler/Samurai combo - dead ao arrival :p
they also wasted 8 troops to kill tow knights  The rest of the troops pushes on to raze Antalya - Japans last Saltpeter. Tokyo is losing defenders slowly, but now we don't lose troops anymore - perhaps the bad streak is over.

(18) indeed, the bad streak is over: an exposed Knight takes 1.5 Samurai into the reals of the dead with him. Antalya is no more - sadly it was full of 1HP defenders so ther knights are out of attack and Japan would be able to retake it so it had to be razed. no more musketmen from now on :D
Decide Spain is ripe for the first installment of the good news soon, Galley are about ready for the first strike. Stack them so we can take several towns if lucky and get a few under guarantee. Japan bring in two units to take uskudar back - what folly. They seem to be close to the bleed-out point now.

(19) the combat egenerator says we have a 50:50 chance on each HP with a Zerker vs. pike fortified in a size 12 town on grassland. Why do we lose 12 HP and the enemy only 3? i get so sick of that.

over my turns i have now had about a 20% ratio on them!
At least this fiasko eliminates Tokyo.

I still want it to finish too. Meldor, post a skip if you don't want to play it.

1685 AD (Pre-turn)

(I) The Japanese send some people up to steal some of our slaves back.

Razed - Kagoshima, Zaragoza, Heliopolis, Murcia, Vitoria.

Dang those muskets are tough, but not too tough for our Zerks.
