Just waiting on one person to vote, though they haven't shown up yet.

Your overwhelming backing for Law 1.2 is inconvenient, I have to work out how they will work and what they will do.

Most likely, you've voted yourselves another inconvenience. Good job Senators. :p

1.2 did not pass, and will not pass even if germanicus votes for it. In the fact even if he votes nothing will change.

Laws 1.1,1.4,1.5,1.7,1.8 passed
1.2,1.3,1.6 did not.

Now only the consuls can decide.

Yeah, but people seemed to want it, and the Consuls might go for it. Also, it might come up again at some point. You never know. :p

Also, there is still time for people to change their votes. Nothing is 100% certain yet, and I don't like calling votes before the time has finished on principle. No Bush/Gore shenanigans here, gentlemen. :p

Erez we must discuss which laws we are to include in the bill, i think its best if neither of us unilaterally declare any laws vetoed before we have discussed them in proper detail.

I didn't veto any law...?

OOC: Just saw the 1st season of Spartacus : Blood and Sand. Gave me a new idea how i look at Senators ..

Calling Voting closed now.

Laws voted on this Session:
Law 1.1: The war in Pannonia - two legions, II and III, will be sent to Pannonia to deal with the raids and if possible, conquer the province.

Law 1.3: Reenactment of the Gracchii Reforms - A limit will be put upon all Ager Publicus land that is leased to others. The limit will be larger than before at 750 Iugera, 250 Iugera for the eldest son and another 200 for the second son.

Votes:
Law 1.1 passes 16 ayes to 0.
Law 1.2 fails 7 ayes to 9.
Law 1.3 fails 7 ayes to 9.
Law 1.4 passes 16 ayes to 0.
Law 1.5 passes 14 ayes to 2.
Law 1.6 passes 8 ayes to 5.
Law 1.7 passes 13 ayes to 0.
Law 1.8 passes 10 ayes to 5.

I think this is correct. Please inform me if I have made a mistake, and I will do a recount.

A reminder that a Law does not need to garner 50% ayes to pass - it must merely beat the nay votes.

Consuls Tiberius Tertinius Palomachus (erez87) and Iustus Brucius (ekolite) have 96 hours to decide on and publish a bill. Please discuss the bill in private and PM me (or post) the finished bill when you have reached an agreement.

Extended times slightly for new years.

Fixed an error where I said something failed when it passed.

Also, feel free to discuss the voting results in the meantime. I for one am surprised that the Gracchi Reforms failed to pass. Thought you guys would have been all for that. :p

Yeah, the current senate is rather conservative. I'll get those eventually, it isn't over yet!

We need more players :p 17 is not the 300 senators that really were :p

And oh god, what are the plebs going to do now?!

Whine and complain until we get a better solution to the Gracchii reforms.
Last time it was plebs vs. Patricians, it did not end so well to the patricians.

Although this time it's more rich vs. poor than plebs vs. Patricians, so we shall see.

OOC: By now there are about 20 patricians families in the entire Roman empire... This won't end well :p

You do know that Rome became an Empire with an Absolute Monarchy, and that an old Patrician family became its Emperor, right?
