KILL the 10 character limit.

All three of them. Especially the first one since its what I have been saying :)

Depends on the context. People posting 'I agree!'s or 'LOL's in the serious-sounding threads in OT and elsewhere are simply disrupting the flow of the threads and wasting readers' time. ;)
But that is not allowed becouse it is not adding to the discution. Saying "I compleatly agrea." is no better. Likewise "Laugh out loud" instead of LOL.

Also if the topic is a poll, often the only possible relivant reply would be "I think A is right", or "I prefer choice B".

If you have to post more than "I agree" then there is more chance that those characters will be used to actually say something useful. They might even be used to say why they agree for example.

The problem could easily be solved by saying you agree, but then backing your opinion up with a reason.

Well I'm glad you managed to work through the pain to make that post...

Yes, it does sem like a good idea to kill the 10 word minimum
But, then we would have even more spamming, especially from me. ;)

That is likely but then most posts lead to spam eventually. Just because the posts are long doesn't mean they are not spam, especially if they are repeating the same points...
