Is so, please post his name and your reasoning for inclusion.

White isn't a good choice for Australia. He retired before the war, got recalled in 1940 to be Chief of Staff, and died shortly after in a civil air crash. He didn't see any of the war effectively.

Also, Australian divisions are generally attached to British Full Generals. You'd be better off picking out the better Major-Generals and using them. For our military the MG is the equivalent of other countries G. I think this is the same for most Commonwealth nations.

EDIT:
Sorry, Lt General is one higher than Mj General.

Also one important thing to remember is that whilst some countries call their 'General Officers of the Army' Generals, other countries break it down further to include General, Lt General / Col General, Mj General, Brigadier.

Also to note is that Commonwealth Nations (part of the British Empire) do not have Field Marshals. The Duke of Edinburgh is the Field Marshal for those nations (Blamey - AUS is a special case during WWII, a lot of special cases during WWII). And unlike other armies a lot of nations will only have the Chief of Army and Chief of Staff (if army) as a higher rank than Brigadier. Traditionally the Brigadier leads the brigades. Generals and Field-Marshals don't have regular attachments and are usually only appointed the position temporarily for the period of the assignment.

Of course, some armies don't follow those general European rules. :)

Whoa, nice work!
How exactly do you intend to implement this amazing list into the game though? I'm really looking forward to it!

Dale, I know what you mean about different countries and their General classifications. Thanks for your feedback

My reasoning to limit to "Full Generals" was when I was looking at www.generals.dk I found so many generals (including lt-generals, mj-generals, brig-generals) listed there that, I thought it best to include only those who managed to get eventually promoted to **** General (or higher) sometime in their career as I would expect them to have earned those stars. My second screening will limit them to further to only those who actually were leading a combat unit (and include those generals others here feel they should be added), not simply worked in the various HQs, e.g. Div HQ, Corps HQ, Army HQ, - Chiefs of Staff. I'll be refining the list further to see which of these generals actually led a combat unit (div/corps/Army/army group/front, etc.) in 1940-1944 or was a CinC (like Eisenhower) being the really full years of combat by all nations. A lot of Chiefs of Staff did not actually lead a combat unit, however some were promoted to this role. I already removed a lot of "Marshals of the Soviet Union" who were simply politicians e.g. Breshnev, Beriia, etc.

Here are couple of Generals who will be included and there criteria for entry
Code:
|*****|BRADLEY

1941 Commandant Infantry School Fort Benning
1942 Commanding General 82nd Airborne Division
1942 - 1943 Commanding General 28th Division
1943 Deputy Commanding General II Corps, Tunisia
1943 Commanding General II Corps, Tunisia-Sicily
1943 - 1944 Commander in Chief 1st Army Group
1943 - 1944 Commanding General 1st Army
1944 - 1945 Commander in Chief 12th Army Group

|****|Clark

1941 Chief of Staff Army Ground Force
1942 Commanding General II Corps
1942 Commander in Chief US Army Forces in Europe
1942 - 1943 Deputy Commander in Chief Allied Expeditionary Force Mediterranean
1943 - 1944 Commanding General 5th Army, Italy
1944 - 1945 Commander in Chief 15th Army Group, Italy
and one who will be cut from the screening.
Code:
|****|Gruenther

1941 Deputy Chief of Staff 3rd Army
1941 - 1942 Chief of Staff 3rd Army
1942 - 1943 Deputy Chief of Staff Allied Expeditionary Force
1943 - 1944 Chief of Staff 5th Army, Italy
1944 - 1945 Chief of Staff 15th Army Group, Italy
You will note I have included General Freyburg who was only reached a Lt.General however, he was independent enough to decide to form his own Armoured Brigade for the NZ forces. And being a Kiwi I want to have some latitude as the designer of this mini-mod :D

Whoa, nice work!

This list will go into version 0.2 or version 0.3.

NOTE: Version 0.1 already includes http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allied_leaders_of_World_War_II and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Axis_leaders_of_World_War_II

As mentioned earlier I will also be looking at AIweight parameters.

Spoiler :
100 for Modern Infantry
90 for Advanced Infantry
80 for Improved Infantry
70 for Early Infantry
...
...
20 for Modern Tank
18 for Light Tank
16 for Heavy Tank
14 for Tank
12 for Super Heavy Tank
...
...
etc.

However, this will take more playtesting and will probably be added to verion 0.4 or 0.5

I'd like to see the equiv air and naval officers too. I mean, they worked just as hard as their army counterparts. :)

I thought about that, but felt that my focus should be on Ground Forces, with Air and Naval as support to these.

I note this misses out on some great leaders like "Kesselring" in Italy, "Park" in Britain but I needed to put a limit on my time with other more important aspects of the mod to develop. I may include those air or naval leaders who led ground forces like Kesselring.
