Kyp's GMR Game (open sign ups)

Askia urges Catherine to make this decision within the next turn.

Catherine should join the fight since that a 2vs1 can be desastrous for her near the end of the game if i lose too much power.

Although no trade relationship with Persia, Darius has been neutral towards Catherine, unlike the Songhai who sided with Egypt before. It's likely the Chinese will DoW us again, so we need to prepare for that as well. By the look of the geographics, it is best for Russians to side with the Persians.

China will not attack Catherine. His troops are near my borders and Songhai units have retreated inside their borders waiting and trying to trap my army inside.

I really wanted Lhasa for the uranium deposit. I knew that Songhai and China would ally sooner or later so it was primordial to secure the uranium against a possible 2vs1. Well i was right.

Think about EEE...what if Songhai would have get the uranium? Stay idle and do nothing? I litterally saved your ass! :king:

The matter is that both China and Songhai are barely holding ground against the persian attacks.
Unfortunately, frequent changes of the government of China did only harm to overall economical and scientific development of China. The chinese army is mostly outdated (CKNs are still running there) and China didn't have enough gold for timely military upgrades. Three chinese biggest cities are on the plains, so they don't possess significant productive capacity. Other chinese cities are satellites or too small in order to produce good units within reasonable amount of time. China is not so powerful as it can be seen by outsiders. China agreed to help Songhai and push back the persian army because the chinese empress is aware that after taking out Songhai, next victim of Persia will be China. The alliance between China and Songhai is purely defensive, we don't aim to destroy Persia or any other civ.
At the moment the chinese and songhai armies are able to retaliate further advancement of the persian army. But when Darius finishes his Manhattan Project, the balance of power will shift to the persian side...

If Catherine sides with Persia to attack Songhai, Askia believes that eventually Persia and Russia will win over Songhai and China. However, afterwards Catherine's reduced army will have to face nearly alone Persia with nukes at her side...

If Russia will not attack Songhai or China during the fight against Persia, Askia can promise that Songhai will not attack Russia or the Aztecs (the promise will be eligible for the whole duration of the game)
In Askia's opinion Catherine has much more chances to win the game peacefully by staying defensive, because making war is always unpredictable...

Persia has the uranium, which is a fact now. Russian land lacks of it, so it is prudent to acquire some, either for defense or for nuclear power plant to boost production (not much desert either in Russia).

Catherine thinks that the frontline is better to be away from our core cities, so while we still has the largest soon-to-be-outdated army, it's wise to get something out of it in the short term (city pillage money) for upgrade.

Therefore Catherine orders his army to advance.

PS: why Persia declared war on Songhai during our peace treaty is still a mystery to Catherine. Wouldnt it be better to attack Lhasa while there was still a stalemate in the Songhai eastern front?

Small victory to the Russian people. 'Third City' of Songhai is captured.

Great game, EEE!
I knew that your cossacks didn't have enough movement points to capture Third City. As long as we fought I have not seen any lancers in the russian army (with 4 MPs), so I made an assumption that you didn't train them at all. I thought I would make a deathground for the russian army near Third City...
How astonished I was when I realised that my city was captured by scout with additional MP (that is 3 MP scout).
During the last turn Songhai destoyed 2 russian infantry, but lost an infantry, an artillery, an anti tank gun and Third City. But the fight is not finished yet...

Songhai posseses a great scientist, which was intended to research Nuclear Fission. However, the russian army has reached Cumae, where Askia planned to acquire his last deposit of uranium. Now Songhai nearly lost the chances of contructing an atomic bomb.

Askia wants to bribe Darius or Catherine. He will exchange a GS for 10 turn truce with Songhai and China. :)

Cumae, yes, Russia knew Songhai had a reason not to mention the former Chinese city had a deposit of Uranium. Cumae will be razed for the good, and then truce can be negotiated.

The map generator is very rediculous for Russia in terms of strategic resources:(

Not enough oil to upgrade into tanks all Catherine's cossacks? :crazyeye::lol:

 Let's see if aluminium is balanced for the lack of both oil and uranium.

PS: 'Little boy' , the first nuclear bomb is under construction in Persia.

Askia declared a technical war to China in order to break current trade luxury deals with China. Some bug took place which didn't let Songhai to get appropriate quantity of points of happiness from these trade deals. Probably It happened due to the the double exchange of Cumae (chinese city) to Silverfort (Songhai's city).

Is it me or Gao is already in danger?

Meanwhile the Persian army is going to capture China's capital and a coastal city. Darius really dislike this alliance and will make China pay a lot more.

''Little boy'' is ready in 2 turns. This powerful weapon can serve for a long term peace deal between all of us(like in real world)! Though i'm a bit worried about the rapid downfall of Songhai

Gao can resist another 10 turns. They just killed 2 artillaries and cossacks of Russia. we will withdraw for now and keep the pressure on Gao.

Once we capture Rome we will make peace with China.

The glorious Aztec navy is raiding Songhai coastal cities and one of their provinces has already switched allegiance.

I must say this game deteriorated quickly for Songhai. The development of the game and how civs expanded surely put you in a bad position.

Cumae was seized by the russian army and put under destruction. So Askia said goodbye to the opportunity to construct A-bombs.
Askia's peace offer to Catherine is still valid (but suffered some corrections): Songhai proposes a GS and Silverfort in exchange for Third City and 10-turn truce with Songhai and China.
The matter is that Third City's cultural borders are too close to Gao. The truce would first expire for Catherine, so she would be able to make the first strike by artillery units situated within Third City's cultural borders, and take down the defenses of the capital of Songhai the same turn.
Silverfort is an island fifth level colony of Songhai. It was settled deep in the middle of the big island, so it cannot be conquered by the aztec frigate fleet.

Askia recently has received a letter from the chinese empress. The empress wrote that the chinese army is too weakened in order to stand against the persian hordes. She wanted to surrender and leave the game. It was hard for Askia to convince her to stay in the game. Askia still believes that China has a little chance for survival.
If not assisted by the military of Songhai, all the biggest cities of China will soon fall into Darius' hands. We just need a truce with Russia, then all songhai units will be sent to the west.

Askia already has lost his first ally (scholarly Pharaoh). He doesn't want to lose the second one. :(

To extract benefit alone by Russians in the proposed peace treaty may angry the Aztec or Persia. Since Russian does not have oil to upgrade these soon-to-be outdated units, we might be better off sacrificing them. If Persia gets peace with Songhai, we will consider peace even without the GS.

It's a bit late for a counter attack from Askia. Next turn we will add 2 chinese cities to the Persian Empire then we will immediately converge near Lhasa. More units are coming from main cities as well and a big big one...

Askia is aware of the reason why Catherine wants to seize Rome. There is some deposit of oil in the third ring near the city.
If Askia proposes other peace terms: Rome and a GS in exchange for 10-turn truce and Third City, it might become more tempting for Catherine? :)

Askia is regretful that he encouraged the chinese ruler to DoW Persia, while China was completely unprepared for waging war against tanks and artillery.

PS A persian destroyer attacked a lonely songhai ironclad moving near the persian coastline. It supposed to be an easy naval victory for the attacker. But it turned out a trap :p
