If I had checked for the decrease in amount of available persian oil, I would have understood that Darius upgraded his cavalry into tanks
I was wrong in my assumption that Persia rush built the research lab.
But they got Combustion not merely because of tanks and destroyers, it seems they entered Modern Era through Atomic Theory. Askia believes that one of persian cities is already working on Manhattan Project.

Catherine, Askia advises you to stay neutral in the erupted conflict between Persia and Songhai. Songhai can be a good defensive buffer between Persia and Russia. We can fight back persian tanks by our anti tank units, and persian bombers by our fighters. We can delete persian advance, and make them suffer considerable casualties. However, when nuclear weapon of Persia comes into stage, Songhai will be defeated.
Meanwhile Russia has some time to tech up, seize city-states on the east and train more advanced units.
If Catherine helps Persia to defeat Songhai, then she will soon be forced to face nearly alone a full-power persian army buffed with persian GA bonus and supported by nuclear weaponry.

Darius still can go for diplomatic victory. He wants to lebarate CSs...
But warmonger in his mind drives him to go for more unpredictable victory type

And yes, I always conquer CS if I have a chance. It's some kind of my weakness

I think it's a viable strategy in MP ffa games. as any civ needs to conquer some cities to expand and CSs have less resistence and no diplomatic consequence.

Surely Russia will ensure no nuclear blast spilled on Aztec land but in order to do so we need equal power to balance this dectructive weapon.

My lady Catherine, you will be terrified by the news, Askia is going to bring you!

This turn songhai scientists made an unbelievable breakthrough in the field of Physics of Substances and completed Atomic Theory. Now Askia is aware of locations of uranium deposits on the map of known world. He wants to share with other rulers some of his knowledge regarding this very dangerous resource:
1) All russian lands are depicted on the map of Askia. There is not a single deposit of uranium on the territory of Russia and city-states east from Russia.
2) Nearly half of aztec lands are drawn on the songhai map. Aztecs' soil doesn't contain any deposit of uranium either.
3) The lands of Songhai do possess a single deposit of uranium. It's located near cultural borders of Lhasa which will fall into persian hands this turn...
4) Only one island CS among all CSs, known to Songhai, does have a source of uranium near its cultural borders.

It may appear that only one nuclear powerhouse will emerge in our game...

Meanwhile the new ruler of China DoWed Persia. Askia is very glad that China stays firm in its geopolitical course despite of frequent change of the government and it agreed to provide help to push back militarised persians.
Even if Songhai falls Askia will make Darius to pay a blood price for every inch of the lands of Songhai.

Now if Russians are nuclearless, Catherine needs a packup plan asap.

She considers 3 possibilities:
1. make a deal with the Persia and let both nations burn in toxic
2. help both nations to keep up the military production to delay the spread of war into far East.
3. depends on if Chinese has any uranium deposit, which Askia intentionally left untold.

95% of the russian territory on Askia's map. Once you agreed on open border agreement with Songhai, and Askia's two scouts traveled a lot through your land.

Askia didn't have open border from Persia or China, so our map reveals only outskirts of their land. We don't see any uranium in these small fractions of land.
However, there is a high chance that China also posseses uranium deposits, because Russia, aztecs and Songhai barely have any of this resource.

Hello guys!

Tomorrow I am going to the business trip for a week and I will be back approximately on 20 February. I am taking a laptop with installed Civ5 to the trip. However, it is unlikely that I will be able to make turns on regular basis, so I decided to go to vacation mode.
Songhai is fighting to survive in this game, so if you don't mind, I would like to halt this game for a week. As a host of this GMR game, I will remove a turn timer.
I think I will have some time tomorrow in the morning to make my last turn for Songhai (when it arrives) before leaving home. So I ask EEE_BOY not to submit his following turn to GMR and wait for me to return from the trip.

I wonder how did you kill 2 tanks RStark. Does artillery units are that powerful? I supsected -1 damage for each units around. You had 4 artillery+Lhasa making -5 damage, enough to kill 1 guy...not 2! That wouldn't be so easy in GnK!

At least i can kill your artillery units too...and my cities can produce new units every 4 turns(4/4 = 1 new per turn)

The war between Persia and Songhai is under way for five turns.
In this war Songhai lost: 1 lancer, 1 cavalry, 1 anti-tank gun, 2 pieces of artillery and 1 infantry.
Persia also suffered casualties: 1 frigate and 4 tanks.
The persian army eventually seized Lhasa.
However, Askia is not fully aware of casualties exchanged between Persia and China.
Darius claimed that persian tanks are invincible, but he turned out to be wrong.

The truce between Russia and Songhai will end the next turn, so Catherine has an option:
1) to attack Songhai from the eastern border and experience the wrath of songhai soldiers defending their homeland
2) to make a promise to Askia that Russia will not attack China or Songhai untill these civs are in fight against Persia. Askia knows that Catherine usually keeps her promises, so he will send all songhai forces to the west in order to help the Chinese against the persian army.

Askia urges Catherine to make this decision within the next turn.

If i stay on defensive for next turns i should be able to hold on both of you. I just want to make sure that you will not gain the uranium deposit

Yes my tanks aren't invincible but they are annoying enough to repeal both of you. Catherine should join the fight since that a 2vs1 can be desastrous for her near the end of the game if i lose too much power.

Edit : I forgot how much broken are the artillery units in vanilla. I placed my tanks near them thinking that they could resist their assault at a rate of 1 damage per turn from each unit. So i really poorly played my last turns and it cost me a lot of ressources...and maybe the game, who knows...
