Israel doesn't claim its lands on the base of having it thousands of years ago, but on the base of being on it and of having a national connection to it.

If Israel can take land it owned thousands of years ago, Egypt can sue for damages sustained from those people equally long ago.

I wonder why people think this lawsuit is stupid? But not Israel's re-establishment as a Jewish state several thousand years after it was destroyed, merely because the Bible predicts it?

Israel exists because the jewish people still existed after thousands of years, and people want to rule themselves in their historical land. It has nothing to do with the law suit - not as long as these alleged stolen goods don't show any will to return to Egypt anyway.

Anyway, I agree. Israel's claim over that land is not any more legit than egyptian claim over the "plundered goodies".

If it's stupid as an idea, it's brilliant as an irony.

I'm not saying that I agree with the lawyer, G-man I'm just saying that was probably his purpose. Actually, I think he raises some fair questions. Of course, land that Israelis bought belongs to Israelis.
