Leaderhead creation

Now I'm struggling to find premade arms. I can't find any model that is simply: Arm.

Halp plz. :cry::cry::cry:

Download MakeHuman. I recently tried it out and it's pretty rad program. You can use it for proportions, then go in with 3d modelling/sculpting for clothing and detail. It's not the most optimal solution, but it works well for what it is.

You posted a 3D Henry Parkes didn't you; that still something you're working on?

Some nice work so far. My favorites to this point are Ramkhamhaeng, Dido, and Adrastus. So far I'm really not a fan of the leader style that Firaxis has gone with for Civ6, so one of the first things I'll be doing if/when I get Civ6 is looking for more realistic leaderheads to download.

I am! I'm reworking parts of his face and remodelling that coat entirely to make it a little less crazy. I've had computer problems, so I haven't made much progress. Admittedly now that my computer is up and running again I've been playing a lot of Overwatch so that's been slowing my progress too.

As swift as the wind, as silent as a forest, as fierce as fire, as unshakeable as a mountain.

On the somewhat less historical side of leaderheads...

Sculptris is the most fun I've ever had modelling anything since lego bricks. Celestia still needs some touchup, but it's almost done.

Of course some of you had already in the motion to make a total conversion mod! Lol

Ctrl-Z works (up to 10 times?), so you can go back each time you mess up something.
W turns on/off triangles, it is important to have a proper number (you have to use Q, which turns detail on/off).
When you are using symmetry, do not "cross" symmetry line.
Delicate moves.

Anyway, first play doh is done. Congratulations. He can lead germons.

So, this is still early work, but I've started working on Jinnah with sculptris.

Two things; can anyone recommend free software I can texture the model with (I would rather not use 2D image editing software to, but otherwise will have to), and does anyone have any other tips on how I can make this model look better (I will admit it does look pretty basic right now)?

You can paint in Sculptris, and to some level add textures. It's not fantastic, though it suits me fine.

Someone earlier mentioned importing Civ V leaders into Civ VI. I wouldn't know where to start trying to do that or anthing, but is it just me, or would Gajah Mada fit in quite well with the Civ VI leaders? Having said that, I suppose that he is also someone that would be likely to end up in the game as DLC (They'll want to include Indonesia again, and who else could they choose?).

The newly revealed Scythian leader would not look out of place in Civ V.

I'm not sure about that. She has a very cartoonish look to her. Like something from a Dreamworks film. The only leader in Civ 5 who looked like that was Harald Bluetooth.

For comparison, look at her and Boudicca from Civ 5 in a side by side comaparrisson. I think that comparrisson would make clear why she does not fit with the Civ V art style. Having said that, I think Tomyris looks a lot cooler than Civ 5 Boudicca- loving the armor particularly.
